I'm at Loganholme rocket and have power, thank goodness. Getting a little stir crazy with staying indoors, but at least we have no flood problems here.
All good, but cool in Adelaide, with a sprinkling of drizzle earlier. My thoughts are with those affected by the floods and fires. I do know where I'm well off and am grateful for it. Although there has been a technical problem with internet access which seems to have resolved itself. Such a little thing in the big picture.
We've had a few blackouts in the park and suburb lately. The worst was during the day it was 45 degC. No aircon! It's very interesting to see how everyone comes out of their vans and cabins and start talking to their neighbours around them. After a cyclone in Broome, the gas barbecues and generators came out and communal dining and sharing became the norm until the power was restored 10 days later. Out of tragedy comes good things. Hang in there Queenslanders and New South Welshmen.

At home, itchy eyes from the fire down the road, apparently 34 units attending. Sorry to those up north, but we need rain which is not happenning here! Such is life and we will get over it!

I am here in Sydney and it was raining cats and dogs yesterday and all last night, I awoke to a nice sunny day which got quite warm and muggy. My cousin who lives in Coonabarrabran, where the bushfires got to within just across the road from her place, last week, has now had 2 inches of rain the last few days and the river is running a gussher for a change.....
Today I am at Kumbia, Only one other motor home here this time and they have pet birds with them. I saw it sitting on the mans hand while he was having a drink outside. Looks like a green parrot, sits on his shoulder while he walks around.
well we are still in broome with a perfect 35 in the day and pleasnat 27 overnight but sometimes the humidity kicks ya in the arse. We will be here for at least another 12 months but do enjoy the evenings at cable beach or floating around the pool in the park. cheers blaze

Like this one Marj ?
Maybe it's RodLainie. Check out the Travelling with Pets thread.
Yes it was exactly like that Sheba. They said hello but weren't very interested in striking up a conversation so didn't think they would be grey nomads.
Checked it out, different vehicle. This one was a motorhome at Kumbia.

I spent a lovely few hours today with Travel Bug, aka Pam. We try to get together regularly but just couldn't get our act together for a few months. We can both talk the leg off an iron pot so the time quickly slipped by. Good to catch up Pam.
It was really enjoyable Beth... If we hadn't both needed to rush off to other places we would probably still be sitting there talking and laughing.
Not that we talk much!!
That's true, we probably would have! By the way, love the avatar.

Hi, Here in Tassie very warm, low 30's, no decent rain since September last year, very dry, the bush that surrounds us all here in Tassie is tinder dry and to top it all off there is a large fire in the lower Derwent Valley 20klm from Hobart. Lucky that there is no wind at the moment but forcast predict gale force North Westerlies which will drive the fire towards towns like Collinsvale and even suburbs around Hobart. The fire is uncontrolled at the present, many crews and helicopters helping to try and slow the fires progress, lets hope they can get the fire under control soon. With very little rain if any on the horizon its a worry.
Oh dear way2gokev. Hope the fire is soon under control. South Coast of NSW has greened up since the 100ml of rain we got but it will dry out again quickly if we keep getting hotter. They do say another southerly is to come through on the weekend. Just looking forward to our next trip on the road.
