New book

Just got our copy of Boiling Billy's Camping Guide to Australia.  We already have Camps 6.

Had a bit of a look through, and it looks great, very detailed information and directions.

I got it too. Looks very comprehensive. Wouldn't want to drop it on your toes, though - heavy!

Will be interesting to compare it to the new Camps 7, next month and get an idea how many places are common to both books.

There will be some out of date stuff in the BB guide, though - impossible to be up to date over the whole country, I guess. For example I noted they list Escott, out of Burketown, which has, in fact, been closed for several years.

This book is available to CMCA members for $10 plus $10 postage unless it has sold out.
Cheers

It would be almost impossible to have things entirely up to date with something like this I reckon, it's a big country out there.

We found Camps 6 invaluable on our way back to Melbourne from Adelaide with the bus; the only issue we had was Port Campbell - the oval there was closed while they built a new toilet/shower block.  The advantage for us of this one is that we intend to bush camp whereever possible, this seems to list more bush camps.

I just ordered it based on the favourable comments here. I'm waiting on camps 7 now.

Don't forget you can up-date on-line guys.  Might save a bit of money that way.

Cheers,

Sheba.

Kev,

Camps 7 is due late February/March I think. Varies in price, around $55 I think and around $80 for the one with the pictures roughly. NRMA used to sell it at discount for members, can buy it online from various sites including the Camps Australia Wide Site. Also camping shops.
