WA Norseman to Port Hedland.

Looking at heading to WA for a couple of months in May.

I'm wondering if there are sealed roads through the central area i.e Norseman to Port Hedland etc, don't want to go all the way into Perth and I'm trying to avoid long stretches of unsealed road.biggrin

sealed all the way - Kalgoorlie - Leonora - Leinster - Sandstone -Mt Magnet. Not sure about Sandstone to Meekathara if you go that way - then north along the Great Northern Highway to Newman and Hedland. Some good free camps too b/w Kal and Meekathara. Gwalia is a must see deserted town a couple of K's from Leonora.

I am also pretty sure Leinster to Meekathara is sealed.
Agree about Gwalia also.
If you go via Mt Magnet the Walga Rock out from Cue is worth the trip - good dirt road, then back via Bonnie Bell? Deserted mining town - fascinating. Huge hotel all in ruins. Day Dawn also worth a visit. CP is cheap there too.
