Too true.

I personally would never notify the council CEO unless I had a very serious problem and crime. There should be a proper chain of command when complaining. I personally consider it extremely rude to go to the highest authority without even giving the middle person a chance to rectify any problems first. A council ceo has far bigger issues to concern themselves with than a roach in a showground shower. Personally, I think it's actions like this that give grey nomads a reputation of cheap and cranky.

That's probably why the Council shrugged off your complaint.
It really does pay to sit back and assess what is local, observe and even enjoy. Just because it's not what you're used to doesn't mean it doesn't belong there.
It's all part of this travel experience.
If everything was like it is at home there would be no point in going to new places. Sit back and observe without judging.

To me its looks on par with some of the cheaper places I stayed in central NSW recently.

I wouldn't mind if it was a cheap place (under $20), and i was only staying overnight, it kind of adds the aventure for me, and gives me more reason to recommended better parks.

A few of the places we stayed at in north WA were on a par with that C/P. Mostly they were service stations with an alleged amenity block and allowed camping behind their building. Since water is scarce, and electricity has to be generated it was not always cheap. All grist for the mill.
