Had an unexpected operation on Monday, Linguine Pasta done! You know, one of those hernia things in the groin. I am so sore, lay down no good, sit up, no good, stand up bearable, walk eases the pain. What is the best position?
Worst part is the fact that it so windy with no further relief.
Caused by getting the caravan out of the driveway and having to cut half a tree down to get it out, with an existing Linguine Pasta, causing half a salami when cutting the tree down!
No man can tell me they have been kicked in the cods until they have been subjected to what I have been subjected to. So please, can anybody advise me on pain relief! Also, the shavers itch!

Can't help your re pain relief, but the itch is caused by the shaved hair growing back. You have 2 choices- shave it again or put up with it till it grows longer.
Ditto with the sympathy.Rest, rest and more rest.Panedol for the pain but don't overdose.I found that a few days rest and taking things easy all but fixed the problem.Take it easy and don'trush things.
Howdyeee , my two cents worth,,, for the pain , have a cone or two,, for the itch, i would get a towel , and put some Pepsi max on it ,and rub it around the itch, it wont help, but u can drink the rest of the Pepsi, hope this helps, if u need any more help ,Gerty dancer is a dog whisperer, she may b able to help, take care , hope to c u out there in the play ground, planet beautiful is waiting for us to enjoy it,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Billeeeeeeee

To all those gents out there who may have a hernia that hangs down into the nether regions and have never bothered about it, get it fixed before you have to bother about it. Trust me!
The smaller it is, the easier the recovery. I apologise if I offend anyone, I had what felt like half my guts in area that is very delicate. Consequently, I will have a longer recovery than what is normal. I also avoided complications such as strangulation of the bowel, because it was so big. Strangulation is where the bowel loops and can't do it's thing and dies. Another reason for getting it fixed early!
All because I had a small hernia and didn't bother to get it fixed and nearly blew it out my backside, I have suffered nausea, loss of diet, spewing due to drugs(Endone is great until it comes back up) and painful manipulation by doctors who finally agreed that it needed surgery.
If you can go private, go private, don't wait!
Sore and sorry
Bothie

A very timely warning Boothie and just as important as any other post on here. When I was down in Geelong my fat brother in law. And I do mean fat. Was lying on the sofa and of course his shirt couldn't stay shut. I noticed the most ugly deformed bulging belly button. I asked my sister about it. Yes a hernia he won't do anything about. Yuck.

Never ever drive between Heathcote and Seymour after a month of having a hernia operation. I do not think it was a good idea. Trouble is I want to start moving now.

I had a hernia in the same spot. Painful as all hell. So I bought a hernia support thingy from the chemist and it worked a treat. Can't remember whether or not I used the support after the operation but I also don't remember having any pain at all after the op. I'd almost forgotten about it till you mentioned yours.
Boothie my foot has slipped off the pushbike pedal when racing my mates (OK so it was 50 years ago so what ) I am therefore familiar with your pain problem. Lots and lots of ice packs mate and rejoice in the knowledge pain has no memory. For the shaving itch I ended up going to the GP and getting some Elecon lotion. Done the trick. Good luck mate & keep smiling.
