Has any of my Grey Nomad friends used an ARK PAK battery system. We are thinking of doing a fair bit of free camping interspersed with caravan parks. IE 2-3 nights of free camping followed by 2-3 nights in a c/park.
The maximum time of usage for a power source would be 2-3 nights. I have been reading about the ARKPAK and apart from the manufacturer who was most forthcoming about usage etc , I would like to hear from someone who has one.
Welcome from me Jimi, enjoy here and out in the playground.
I thought of one those or similar but have a 1900 amp SCA Jump Starter so tried that and works well for me, saves carrying to things around that do similar. I have only just finished re-wiring all the 12v system of my Avan so the Jump Starter probably won't get much of a look in now. You will get Heep's of good advice from members here so listen and have a good poke around the other sections of the forum as well and,

I have a similar unit and have at times found it useful as it has an amphour capacity of 38ah. I have also used it to jump start my diesel Pajero. 38ah pould probably run an Engel for about a day in average ambient conditions.
In the case of the Ark Pak you fit your own battery so you would have to factor this into your budget. I would strongly recommend fitting an AGM battery. If you added a solar panel to the mix you would be set up for extended "off power" camping.
The Ark Pac I believe the older ones were around $170 but newer ones are in the $400. Some older still around. They are much different in what they include in the package.
