Karen (my Garmin GPS, loaded with Camps 6) are going south for a little while, not taking a pc so don't expect to be online unless near an internet cafe or similar if I have the inclination.
Probably leave next week before or after Australia day, no set itinerary, could change daily and don't want to lock in to a set route.
So after next week catch up on my return (probably before April or sooner).

You have a good, enjoyable, safe, and trouble free trip Vic. This came up pretty quick, or have you been planning it on the quite ???
OR is it because wombat is back, and you have decided to head for the hills
Thanks Daryl, got a few medical issues out of the way or under control, so decided while I had a fairly free time frame time to take off and test out my rear end tent, but has been in the back of my mind for awhile, funny bit it was last year in January that I headed for the same area and met up with Yeoeleven, just playing it by ear this year.
BUT.....then it could be that now we know Wombat is out of his burrow and out and about it is time to go on the run!
Take care Vic and keep the eyes open and looking ahead for many wombat holes, he's been gone so long there would be heaps of 'em out there. MMMMMMMM wonder if he found dazren's back yard??????
Edit...Ooops, Typo

No wombats down in the area I'm going, a few Echidna's though! But you never know, he's a wily one our Wombat!
safe travels Vic - we hope to be in the west in March so will be looking to catchup with the mob we stayed with at Dwellingup a couple of years ago.
Thans Jenny and Barry, that was a good meet up and the hospitality of your awning area for us all made it even better....look forward to another when you get over this way.
Thanks always on the road, the 2012 model Outlander I have has a fold down tailgate, which gives the extra length for the bed, the end of which just folds up with the gate when packing up etc.
The 2013 Outlander does not have a tailgate which gives you the required extension for a full length single (one piece hatch opening at floor level only).
At first having the back raised put a light on in the dash display showing the rear hatch was open which may have flattened the battery overnight according to Mitsubishi (no isolating switch) even though the ignition and accessories were "off".
However Mitsubishi had a look and worked out that we could turn it off by manipulating the rear tail gate hatch (very easily done) which houses a hidden on/off switch for the dash light (normally, when the hatch is closed and the catch secures it turns the dash light off).
So as long as I do that I should have no problems, just better not forget! lol !

I have to get my digit out sorting and packing things, trying to sqeeze what I need into an Outander isn't easy, I'll be sleeping on the ground the way I'm going (won't be any room in the back) but everything will work out ok, done similar things before with a tent...
Probably be some time next week late or being Australia Day weekend might leave it until after the Monday holiday is over....
Thanks Wombat, I have to miss the Aussie Day weekend too (public holiday on the Monday), just a few more things to pack and I'm off.
I was thinking about a roof pod but that will have to wait now if I get one until I return.
I have decided to go south via Brookton (great free camp in Camps 6 at Nornaning just before Cuballing next to a disused railway man made lake once used to water the steam engines). Only has a modern composting toilet, no drinking water or showers, but is a lovely spot about 2kms off the road, mostly bitumen road in except for a small section into the camp.
Rough direction and plans, going to Denmark for sister's 79th birthday, may venture down to Parry's Beach (20kms west of Denmark) for another stay, then head east along the coast via Albany on the way to Esperance visiting maybe Bremers Bay and Houptoun along the way.
Nothing set in concrete or timed, except Denmark for sisters birthday.....
