G'day from Tully

Just found this awesome site when looking for info on the Transcool Air Coolers. We (Jen and Sol) are not quite Grey Nomads yet, but are working on it: Tully is our home town and we do heaps of camping with our Vista RV Crossover whenever possible. Look forward to enjoying the chat with all you guys and gals. Cheers Sol

I had the best Thai Pumpkin Soup I have ever had at a little Motel in Tully a few years back Sol, very nice indeed. Not a bad Motel either. I haven't been in a motel since. I asked the Chef what was in it and he said he would have to shoot me if he told me. I have tried different things but never quite the same.

Doug,
I see you have an Avan. I have a few customers that have them as well. If ever you are up this way let me know and I'll give you their addresses. I know of one couple that are in the Avan club up here in Nth Qld.

Cheers Sol

Hello Sol - welcome to the forum.  You live in a lovely part of Queensland - although I have only driven through so far (I used to live in Townsville and had friends in Innisfail area) - I am planning to get back up that way, but not for a couple of years unfortunately.

Esmeralda,
Thank you. Yes it's nice up here most of the time. Still getting over Yasi up here though. Dunk and Bedarra Island Resorts are still to be repaired. That's affecting the tourist numbers at the moment.

Cheers Sol

brickies,
Here are a few to start with.
Murrayfalls Campground. Beautiful large campground, great swimming, fireplaces, shower and toilets, rubbish bins. It's a National Park so no pets. This time of year it is invaded by Marchflies. Best time is April til September.

King Reef Caravan Park at Kurrimine Beach. Right on beachfront with a restaurant, bar and bottle shop. Great fishing just offshore and in Maria Ck. Crabbing is also good in the ck.
At the other end of Kurrimine Beach is a council run park on beachfront with powered sites showers and toilets.

Mission Beach has a few caravan parks also. There is the Beachcomber which is a 4 star rated park right on the beach at South Mission Beach, Hideaway Caravan Park at Nth Mission. Woolworths, BWS, Chemist, Newsagent, Boat accessories, Clothing Shops and heaps of eateries are close by.

Tinaroo Dam up on the Atherton Tablelands is my favourite.
There's a good Caravan Park up there and also camping around the dam at different National Park Sites.

Cheers Sol. ps, if your up this way and need a mechanic I'm the man lol.

Yes there is. Great Green Way Caravan Park. Mostly backpackers and workers there.
The one at Tully Heads is called Googarra Van Park

Cheers Sl
