smell in water tanks


hi guys

happy new year to everyone ,filled our water tanks up today after having emptied them last week and just had a shower and the water smelt off, can anyone give any suggestions on what to use to clean them out .

We use bicarb soda Musky. Used bleach once, that was a mistake.

Bicarb in, half fill tank and take it for a drive if possible and let it slosh around then empty via the taps.

great thanks firefly ,bicarb would be my preferred option to bleach,I am always looking for a more natural way to clean anything ,

hi  if the smell comes with hot water could need new anode in the hot water tank

     check mine every six months and carry a spare   about $25

         suenray

Was on a m8s boat over xmas and he showed us some stuff to fix smells and kills bacteria will get the name and put it up
