My baby girl (33 ) and I had a rare night out alone together last night, for dinner and a movie.
We saw Parental Guidance with Billy Crystal and Bette Midler..two of my favourites. Talk about laugh! It was well worth the extra cost of going on a Saturday night. And it's a movie I could see again.
This morning I went to the same movie with my 30 yr old baby girl. A great movie and so funny. There weren't many there, wouldn't have been a dozen. The start time of 9.45am might have been the reason.
That was a funny conincidence Marj,,both of us going with our daughters. Last night was packed and we were a little late going in, so had to sit down the front and to one side.
Vic, I want to see that one too. Also Les Mis, but I may have to go that one alone...no-one else is interested.
As an aside, while we were in Echuca, sis & bil bought the boxed set of All the Rivers Run. I've never seen it as we were living in NT when it was on TV, so I ummm, 'borrowed' it to my external hard drive. Copying being illegal and all.

Hope to go see Les Mis' during this week before I head north again. Biggy is too small to have a theatre so would have to drive 100 ks to see a movie. I miss not being able to pop down to the movies when something comes up I like the look of.

As is our usual practice we treated ourselves at Gold Class on New Years eve. Use up all the movie ticket XMAS & Mothers Day gifts.
They sure don't miss you there. Total cost for the night was over $150!! and that was not including the airline sized bottle of wine I took in for seconds. SWMBO was not ammused .. It was in her handbag.
Saw Les Mis & enjoyed it ... though not the cost. Pointed out to SWMBO all the people coming in with large bags & a few guys with Man Bags.
Went home & sat on the front verandah with a glass of white & watched the early fire works at The Glen, a local pub. Can just see the display over the trees.
Finished off the night with green tea, in the recliner watching VHS tapes of old State of Origin games on my new big screen. Qld. always wins on my tapes... funny that, same with Aus playing NZ or the Poms.
I was told 'Intouchables' was also a good movie - but some may need a hankie. I watched DVD of 'Iron Lady' the other day and even that brought a few tears - but probably because my Dad has dementia.
Saw Quartet his week, was funny and sad in parts. I would love to be in a home with some of those people...
Today went Gold Class and saw Les Miserables.....well just magnificent really and our Hugh deserves the nomination and I hope he wins. So many people in the movie I recognised.
Lincoln is next on the list I think.
