RE: Matilda Campervan (Fixed Ute Type)

Thanks. Yes, after posting, I realised the date of Jannos post was 2013 not 2023! Thought Id see what came of it anyway.
Also, thank you for the kind offer re weights. Im learning lots reading the posts and always take note of the GVM info now.
thanks again

Hi Stephanie. The GVM rating certainly is important, but in your case the car's rear axle carrying capacity is equally important, maybe more so. Is your car 4wd? Is it single cab? Auto? Many variables that you may like some help with. Cheers

We've a friend with a Sherwood which is about a similar vintage to the one you are looking at. It's a 3 litre 4WD diesel manual and had a GVM upgrade when she bought it secondhand.
She has done quite a few extended trips with us over the last five years and the Sherwood has performed perfectly even in very wet muddy conditions in 4wd it has just done its job.
The rear lounge area with the large windows is great and we've spent many hours sitting inside in inclement weather watching the world go by.
