Left Greens Lake today, NYDay

After a week at Greens I have come back in to Echuca to dog sit till the weekend and do some big shopping.

Very disappointed this year, nothing like last years gathering and fun out there. Only 3 of us there for NYE and parked in different areas. Certainly can't beat last Summer when so many Grey Nomads were lined up and having so much fun. Will never forget it and hope another year will be more enjoyable than this year.

I know we have to go in different direction as we travel and can't always end up in the same place each year. Just hope it does happen again sometime.

We can never repeat experiences in exactly the same way, just have to enjoy each new experience for its own self I guess. Happy New Year to you HW!

Too true Gerty. I will keep going back as I love the place. Never know, may still have some exciting times out there.

Happy New Year Marj, we're in Taree house and dog sitting for our daughter while she's in Tassie. We enjoyed Greens last yr too, but our paths all take a different course year by year. Hope to be on the road again Easter. Take care.

Marj your post has confirmed something I have thought a lot about , We have friends who have told us about great places to visit and when we have visit the place we have wonder what was it they seen that we could not see , So down the track we asked what was it that they liked about the place and they had to think and than they said it was the company they went with. They also go to Tamworth country music festival just so they can be with other people they know but not for the festival they leave on the Friday of the long weekend .

I'm home now too...from my sisters at Tin Can Bay. I felt the heat so badly up there, I'm glad to be home where it's always cooler. The bonus is there's a pool right outside my door. biggrin When I got home I walked straight in, clothes and all. Sooo good!

Marj, your comment on Greens Lake makes me wonder if we should have our Qld meet somewhere different to Cobb & Co of last year. Or...if as suggested, it's the company and not the venue, maybe it doesn't matter. confuse

Oh, and Happy New Year!

You are exactly right brickies, we go to Burren Junction every year at the same time. Now I hear people say its not very nice there, but we meet up with the same folk each year and have formed some really good friendships and have a great few weeks with them. Sometimes it is tne people not the place. But in saying that, We did enjoy Greens lake 2011/2012 New Year.

I've never been there, but according to http://ozcamps.net/index.php?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=29 it's a 48 hour only camp. Would that be right?

But I'm happy to go there. Bonus that it's free! biggrin

Would that person who feels the cold be me by chance? biggrin

Have to agree with you too Brickies. Last year/summer at Greens was so special and gave us lasting memories. Because so many came that first time, it was so busy and went on for so long. It will happen again the same or similiar and maybe with a completey different group of GNs.
Look forward to it in the future.

Yep Beth. lol. Someone was telling me the other day, you can do 48hrs up the top then move down the bottom for 48hrs. Think it was Jimbo. Maybe not really long enough. Back to the drawing board.
