Travelling and working, with pets

Happy New Year everyone...... from a cold and miserable Queenstown NZ!  My hubby and I have sold up everything and are starting out on our OZ adventure in May 2013 (counting the days now!).  We will be working while we are travelling around and I have seen a lot of info on travelling with pets, but what I was wondering was, is it possible to work and travel with pets?  I have 1 wee furry dog who is very well behaved, and I really don't want to leave her behind, but I'm not sure what people do with their dogs while working.  I also realize it is not possible to take pets onto National Parks so what do others do in that situation?  Any stories and info would be much appreciated.  Cheers

I can't comment on either pets or working.
Just thought perhaps you should post this in the travelling with pets section.
Welcome to you as well.

Hi Carters, welcome to the site.  We have travelled for 18 months with a dog (since passed away) and working as we travel.  As long as you are "up front" with your job application, advising potential employees that you are travelling with a dog, and if you keep your dog under control and quiet while you are at work, you should have no issues.     We have even been able to get "references" for our dog.  We put up our full annex and caravan skirt, allowing our dog to have range within our van annex without having to be tied up all day.  We ensure that we give him suitable breaks during the day, and that he is not too hot or too cold etc, and that he has plenty of water on hand.
