Calibre is a free download program that changes the format of the books to suit different E-readers. I was given thousands of books on a flash drive and thought I needed Calibre to download some but turns out they are still under copyright so have not used it yet.
If anyone wants ebooks and we meet on the road let me know - have 8GB of books - 37,000 items - which may not mean that number of books, but certainly heaps of them. Can transfer to a flash stick for you.

I dont know where these came from originally - given to me on a flash stick. Cannot email or post themno

Hi All
I have got a kindle as a xmas gift from my beautiful wife I am not an avid reader of books I think I have only read 7 books in my whole life but it seems that now I cant put the ereader down I have loaded 9 books on it so far from amazon free books. Can i ask if any of you wonderful people could explain what a calibre is and where I would have to get it from please.

No idea. Everything is listed under the author's first name then last name - then open up and find what books of theirs are there. So unless I know what author.....

I emailed one book to myself - was 2MB - I presume they will all be about that. So i know that worksbiggrin

I have downloaded the calibre from the link you kindly added to your post reply however when I tried to load a book from my kindle to the calibrelibrary for storage a message kept comming up under copyright can not send to calibre is this normal.
