12v Conversion for VAST box

Hi, I have seen topics on this subject before but not for this particular unit.

It is a professionally made replacement power board to be fitted internally which is 1/2 the price of another unit I have seen.

It is very easy to install with only a small phillips screwdriver required. There is however a risk involved if you are unfamiliar with the internals of the box. PM me if you want to know how to do it safely.

When this board is fitted you can run the box direct from 12v via the supplied ciggy lighter plug or via the 240v / 12v power supply - also included.

The best part it is only $93 + freight (depending where you are). Your friendly satplus.com.au store will get one to you promptly. I got next day delivery from Melbourne to Adelaide last week.

Cheers Neil

Hi Neil,
I use and inverter costing around $39 to power our 240Vac shaver, Sat Receiver etc. Does this card do something similar ie covert 12v to 240vac inside the Vast box ie in the replacement power board, or does it bypass the conversion to 240vac thereby reducing the power usage ie 12v DC in, to the low voltage Vast circuitry.

thanks for the info

Peter.

Hi Peter, I am not a techie so I cannot tell you how it does what it does just that it is a Power board that replaces the internal 240v input board so only requires 12v input.

Here is a link to a very similar item with similar accessories as the one I mention but is around twice the price.

Cheers Neil

I bought one of these to power my VAST box. It works a treat.

I have one of those too Chris but by doing the conversion my power consumption for watching tv while camping has halved.

The bonus?   No fan noise from the inverter.

I wouldn't go back now.

Cheers Neil
