Now i dont want to start a mines better than yours contest, I would just like some thoughts. I am looking at buying a 26-28' motorhome. I had a 23' jayco last year and it was great, but as i will now be travelling with my fiance we need a bigger one :)
Sooooo, can people please tell me the advantages of a Winnebago or the bigger Jayco. I looked at the new 26' jayco optimum with the dual slide outs and it is fantastic and at around $170K it certainly is nice but is a Winnebago better value for money.
Shogun, when I first started looking I could not go past the Winnebago, Only because I felt they offered better value for money, personally never liked jayco. Personal preference, however as time has gone On and more investigation, I discovered paradise mh's, still investigating, But they are coming out in front, I think worth a look. Price range is about the same as what mine will be and I am looking at The inspiration series. Have a look at the website. Sharon.

My sister is very happy with her Sunliner. Had the interior altered to suit. Myself, if I had the money, and was going to upgrade from a Campervan to something just a little larger, I'd get the Paradise Oasis. I really like that layout.
Paradise was the first to make things easier for solo women to operate.
My Brother has a Sunliner Fusion and our friend has a Winnebago.
Brothers issue only a small few were dealt with professionally and promptly.
Our friend more than a few issues were 1/2 dealt with and are on going also with damage in the process of repairs being carried out, all to the point where she is that upset and is talking about walking away at a financial lose.
Both these units are built on an Iveco Daily chassis, and purchased new.
If we ever went down the road of buying a Motorhome over the caravan we would go the Sunliner product.
I've seen a similar question asked on forums and Sunliners have been recommended. I must admit that from what I have seen people either love or hate the Jayco. I noticed with the newer Winnes the brand name was smaller a few months back.
We looked at a number of motorhomes at a CMCA Rally, and really liked a Paradise unit cannot remember the design. Was impressed with the Jayco Optimum with the 2 slide outs, cannot recall its weight carry capability. Then there is the decision of a Fiat or MB chassis, the MB costs from memory about $10K more. Would also compare the fuel economy of the Fiat and Auto MB vehicles as part of your purchase comparison.
I understand that Jayco from friends have very good support/warranty, do not know about support/warranty of Sunliner or Paradise.
Just a point on Jayco, I don't know about motorhomes but with caravans they had about the best after sales warranty service around, even after the warranty had expired on two occasions from my experience with them. If you have a dud local agent, contact Jayco Head Office in Melbourne direct, they are most helpful.
I see this link advertising Winnebago 2012 models, this is the Australian makers, not the US ones, go to the bottom of the page and read their disclaimer too, see; http://www.winnebago.com.au/2012-winnebago-models
Then there is this court decision which seems that things may happen soon in regards to the branding?
After a lot of research and looking around at all the models available, I have decided on the new 28' Jayco Optimum with a few customised things that i wanted added on. Its being built in Feb and will be ready in April. My dealer in Geelong (prestige jayco) has always been very good with price and service so will stay with what i Know.
