I know it's not really wiring diagrams we got, but when we purchased our pre-loved Regent van, we sent them (Regent) an email asking for any info on the van, we included the number, and in return we received a copy of the plans - 'that's all we have' was the answer. It seemed that it was custom built, but we are thankful we have them, and on closer inspection there is some electical stuff on it.

Having a new van built currently, will be ready after Christmas, I have asked for a plan / Layout of the wiring for Ac & Dc, the company seem to be skipping around the question, am i within my rights to have a detailed layout of wiring or am i asking to much & to fussy ?
You may have the rights to ask for the wiring plans, but i do not know if they have any. As i ask the dealer i brought our van from and the repley was with so many custom vans being made it was time consuming or impossable to do a plan for each van. This could be a bit of a excuse for them for not doing one as there are a lot of vans that are not custom made.
I don't know for sure , But it you buy a spec home you don't get any plans has they are the property of the builder because of copy rights , Maybe the same if they give out plans someone could copy it and build the caravan themselves . I would think someone in the industry should be able to tell you which way the wire run to the power point has there would be an industry standard and there is an certificate for electrical on all new caravan
I would think that you should at least get a schematic so that should there be an issue or if you need to add somthing down the track you know whats connected to what or where the fuses are etc.

maybe allllllllll yes all cvans should have a wiring diagram of where the wires run and what voltage this could be a safety thing as alot of owners want to drill holes screw things on and sometimes cut parts away from the van. i know i get a bit hesitant when about to do 1 of the above . thinking hmmm is this where theres a wire am i gunna get zapped or liven the van.
heres a real story funny but true well maybe not funny but it was my mother in law so i got a giggle so here goes . my mother out law bought a toyota mobile/camper ye 1 that ya gota fold the bed up to eat . them with no experience at all in camping or caravans they had a roll out awning fitted and did a few trips in it . not being what they wanted they decide to sell it . a woman came around to look at it did a deal but befor she came back to pick it up the ignition started to play up . thats ok got it fixed they thought $400 about . but it played up again so someone else looked at it and found that the fitter for the awning had drilled through the wires going to the back of the van and he said it was a disaster waiting to happen . he rectified the problem and the rig was sold safe n sound .
so my thinking is every van mbl home camper should have a full wiring diagram affixed with it to help any one drilling cutting and fitting things to our vans .

That's exactly what I've been thinking. Should be compulsory for one to be provided with the vehicle.
My standard Corrimal van only comes with a fairly basic handbook that covers the whole range of vans. it has several wiring diagram to pick from. not sure which one is correct. It does not have any layouts thu.
A Schematic Wiring Diagram, may be of help, but not much in some cases. A friend had a repair job done on the top drivers side of his full height van, great looking job, took the van home and 2 days prior to a trip for some reason hooked up and tried out the lights, the high width lights at the front and back did not go along with the parking lights.
Turned out the track that fits over the the top and side with the plastic insert in, had to be removed for the repair and when the screws were replaced one went thru the cable on the vertical part of the corner of the caravan earthing it. It was an easy fix, screws removed until the offending one was found, repositioned and the hole sealed up. aparently there is not a set height for this around the corner wiring.
To me if you have access to the manufacture prior to the outter cladding being installed I would take the appropriate photos of the wiring position.
