Do you use a free app or is it a program you buy? Hubby found it interesting.

Hey Milo, it looks good but it was only a straight line so how do you go turning corners, going around round abouts, stopping at school crossings and stop lights mate? I also hope there was not too many pot holes in the road.

Oh! It looks like you scraped your tail along the ground while taking off as well?

Dazren wanted to say all that but he asked me to as I know you.

Hi CC, I have had a look at Xplane, that I havent gotten yet

Pam the game is called Microsoft flight simulator x , nowadays comes as a gold edition
which is the deluxe version and an acceleration pack which adds more planes etc
you need a beefy computer like an i7 (usually quad cores nowadays) to run it

and yes I did scratch the paint on that take off and who needs roads when you got the great open air !!

and the jets also have the fasten seat belts and no smoking sign switches,
which are activated most of the time!!

so far I have put in about 60hrs into the game, most on cesna's mainly the cesna 172
learning the bombardier Lear jet 45 as in the pics and Boeing 737-800

there are addons that you can buy too that add to the game environment,

http://www.fspassengers.com/ this one (you pay for ) it gives you the addition of passengers in the plane
which apparently you can hear ,
also this one
http://www.fsdreamteam.com/products_gsx.html which gives you better ground activities while at airports etc, better than the
ones in the game..

i havent gotten them yet so not sure what there like

best to fly this with a decent joystick or if your keen you can buy the yokes for this too

oh if you really want to get into it , you can have a home set up like this guy has done

Thanks for trying milo, I'll let you know if it works. biggrin

No game crashing, usually means you need more ram, how much ram are you running?

My desktop system was built for FSX only, nothing else running on it (except Win 7)

you should not have any CTD problems with that system, I have never had any CTD problems but I have heard of some guys who have had.

You may find an answer here http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/index.php?app=core&module=search&do=search&fromMainBar=1

Also would be a good idea to join this site and ask questions, the guys on here are really great http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/index

Only fly alone never have done the fly online thing and the ATC stuff is not the best in FSX, however I do have the ATC tell me where to go and sometimes have to wait awhile for taxi/takeoff clearance.

The Aussie scenery is really worth the cost, also the recent England scenery.

I will try to put up a pic for you of Perth A/P approach tomorrow, so you can see what it looks like with the aussie scenery.

Hey wombat,
I've been trying out the beech craft king air 350,
I think that's what it's called? Great little plane!

I'm llooking for something like that ,
but cross between a small jet and combination of passengers and or cargo
But not only for flying around aus but globally with an easy ****pit layout
like the king air. Any ideas mate??? I do like the one in my sig the bombardier Lear jet45 But find I have a lot of trouble with overspeed and some times The nose pitches up n down on its own and I can't figure out how to stop it With that plane, could that be flown globally ?! I don't like the big jets, too complicited...

have a look here, you will have to join the site @ www.flightsim.com and the aircraft are free, they have 173 KingAir 350.

All a/c in FSX can be flown globally, the lear is hard to fly because of its speed, try getting more experience with the cessna's.

I'm just going to sort out the pics I promised you a couple of days ago, and will post them here soon.

omg well that's a surprise...never know all folks interests...certainly wide ranging, and here I was thinking wombats only dug holes for their hobby.

What does Mrs Wombat do ? while you are flying.

Good for you Milo, certainly keeps you out of trouble too.

Ahhhh, brings back memories.

I did a course and got my Restricted License flying Cessna 152s out of Jandakot WA.  I went on and got a Aerobatics endorsement where-bouts I could do Spins, Hammerheads, Loops etc to keep me interested while I clocked up hours.

I never found the need, or time to go on for Unrestricted.

Pic 17 looks like some serious undercarriage mods have been made Wombie.

I might have to have a another look at Flight Sim although I don't have a joystick.

Cheers Neil
