My DAC Truck Tent.

It arrived today.   Now I just hope I've ordered the right one.  Going out to see how it fits in a minute.

Will take Pics.  Package was smaller than I expected.

Cheers,

Sheba.

That's a shame Sheba, might need a skirt sewn on the bottom to make it reach further down.

Otherwise put it on market straight away while it is in good condition (and while people are buying Xmas pressies).

Mine (SUV DA1) fits the Outlander ok, but tried it on the back of a campervan (like yours) and had the same problem, not enough depth.

When I was checking mine out with DAC by email, they told me it would also fit a High Ace Van but I don't think they knew what one was, probably not Yankee talk for their RV's over there, I notice a lot on their list I have never heard of.

I finally found a Pic. of a Hi-ace with the rear door lifted, and sent that to them.   Reply was that they have nothing to fit that type of vehicle.

Cheers,

Sheba.

Have to remember here, that I got a different model to the one Vic. bought.   He got the one for RV's and Mini-vans.   I thought if I got the Large Truck Tent, it might fit mine better.  Not so unfortunately.   But I've already got a buyer for it, so no harm done.

Just have to wait a while longer.

Cheers,

Sheba.

Hi Sheba and Duh,

I was just wondering if it fits UNDER the rear door perhaps, I am aware there may be a seal problem but looking at the pic's Sheba posted that's what it looks like to me.

Just a thought.

I'll post the Pic. I sent them, so that you can see why that would not work Dougwe.

Yes, it needs the extra length Doug to cover the open area, which it does not have.

I had tried mine on a Hi Ace (bought it for the Outlander which it fitted perfectly) and found the same thing as Sheba, the skirt is not long enough.

I did pass this info onto Sheba but she had already placed her order for her model which appeared to fit the bill according to their specs.  Alas, this was not to be.

I can't see why they couldn't have made a model that would, they must have Hi Ace equivalents in the US.   Like most other things these days they are made for the US distributor by China.

I've only just found this thread Sheba.

Have you looked into getting something made to order? I had the zip-on awning and walls made to fit my little camper trailer and if memory serves me correctly, it cost $400. Another bloke quoted me $700! This was heavy canvas which I think, would have been more expensive than what you're looking at.

Years ago, my late s-i-l had a screened tent-like annex made to fit the back of their twin cab ute. This was before anything like this had been done. She could stand at the tray back to make lunch without the flys, then sit in peace to eat it. It was fabulous!

Can't afford to Beth.  Don't worry, I'll figure something out. Got another idea I'm still working on.

Cheers,

Sheba.
