Living Desert campground - Broken Hill NSW

Gday...

BROKEN Hill City council proposes to throw down the welcome mat down for caravanners wanting to stay in the area's Living Desert Reserve.

Camping has been banned at the tourist attraction, which includes 12 sandstone sculptures highlighting the skyline. But the council now proposes to provide a primitive camping area for 20 tents and 20 caravans and is seeking public comment on the idea.

It stressed that the facility would not compete with established caravan parks because of its basic nature.

Cheers - John

Sounds great for those who want to free camp , But I would pay for a caravan park for the little extras

That is lovely news.  What a great idea.

Hope it gets the go ahead and full support of the travelling public.

That's a clever photo Mike C! Well timed getting the sun through the hole in the sculpture. We saw the most beautiful Sturt Desert peas in this park.
