Hi ,i am thinking about fitting free wheeling hubs on a 100 series Toyato cruiser. When i spoke to a well known auto transmission on the Gold Coast,
they are saying i would get about another 4ks to the 100 and a better ride. I would like to hear if any of you lovely people have had or know if any one has done this.
I beleive the 100 series is constant four wheel drive, in this case I think it is wishfull thinking as you are still driving the front tail shaft, diff & CV joints So there will be exceptional wear on the bushes in the free wheel hubs.
I would be looking at how the front drive is engaged in the transfer case. I dont remember which vehicle this is related to but I did hear of an electric front drive engagement system to which the person extended the wireing into the cab & fitted a switch in the system so he could engage/disengage as he wished.

Reg, I feel something as specialised as this would be more fruitfully discussed on a Landcruiser forum. When you go there I suggest you give them more details of your model as there could be differences in transmissions between models.
