Ok here I am at day 49 and it still only feels like yesterday I left for this journey.
When I finished rambling on in Update 6 I had taken yeoeleven to Echuca.
So to continue on from there, I have been having trouble with the 12V system in the Avan so the next day Tuesday I cleared everything out of the Avan so Mr Briche Brian could have a good poke around and check out the battery and wiring for me after he had made the offer to do so.
It was discovered that all the 12V wiring was far from suitable for this new style of free camping (To me anyway) that I want to do more of so he showed and explained to me what I need and how to go about it to get the best possible outcome so when I get back home I will start to make those improvements so next time I head off out into the playground I will be able to tackle almost anything. Thankyou so much Brian for all your help.
Now this Grey Nomad life style is really agreeing with me, I have met some great people and had great times but here at Greens Lake has been something very special. On Wednesday we had Christmas At Greens Lake while there were quite a few of us here and a great time was had by all, we all enjoyed a Greens Lake Stew kiwi-as cooked up in his camp oven and kiwi rainbow cooked up a Red Wine Stew in her Dream Pot and they were both very yummy indeed, now we were all asked which one was better, now come on how can a decision like that be made when the famous kiwi rainbow PAV hadnt made its way to the table yet. They were both excellent and they were my first time of having something cooked both ways.
Now if any of you like Master Chef on the TV, these two lovely people would give any of those cooks and the judges for that matter a run for their money and I tell you that for free.
After the famous Pav and other great looking and tasting deserts were consumed and I might say very quickly I had been asked the day before if I would do a sort of people roast, you know the sort of Celebrity Roasts they do on TV well I agreed and had given it great thought over night and had made some notes for myself so we set about with that and like all those sort of things people added to the fun as we went along so a great time was had by all.
On Friday I took yeoeleven over to Wodonga to check out a Toyota Coaster he had been following on ebay so kiwi-as came with us to add his expertise, well after a good look at the Coaster we decided to not even test drive it, there was just too much, well, say I say, not in its favour so we headed back to our temporary home at Greens Lake.
Saturday and Sunday heaps of locals arrived armed with their ski boats and Jet Skis to enjoy the very hot weather here (mid to high 30s). It was a lot busier than last weekend and a group of schoolies arrived Friday afternoon and commenced playing and having fun, us Grey Nomads all thought oops, here we go,no sleep tonight and Saturday, HOWEVER they were very good little boys and girls and even though they had a party we heard nothing from them after 10.00pm. One thing though, there was only 2 boys and 5 girls, lucky boys. OK then, yes I was jealous and if truth be known I bet a few of the other Male Grey Nomads were too. So like last weekend I have found it to be very entertaining here at the Lake with all the skiing etc going on, only there were some clowns on Jet Skis and one was a real show off.
On Sunday it got so hot I decided to go in the big bath out the front (Lake) and cool down kiwi-as joined me and we where both out there for about 30 mins. It was the most water this body has had on it for nearly two weeks now so it was great.
We ended Sunday by sitting around a camp fire with toasted marsh mellows cooked by a master, I won't say who but he was a kiwi.
Monday morning arrived with a little drizzle but cleared in about 5 minutes and wasnt even enough to settle the dust. This continued on and off most of the day but it is warm.
We had some more Grey Nomad visitors call in for a chat, Nomad246 and tpc99 they all came armed with food as well, I have said it before, gee this is hard out here in the playground.
I must say as well, I came out in the playground thinking I might lose some weight by the time I get back home but it's not going to happen with all the yummy food around here at Greens Lake.
Well, I think you get the picture by now so until next week keep safe out there where ever you might be.
The two group pic's are from, well I won't dob but she is a Kiwi and likes Rainbows.
