Newbies

Hi everyone, I would like to introduce ourselves, we have been living full time in our van since Dec last year, we have rented our home out to the kiddies and I am still working as we are saving for the Dream LOL we are both under 50 and my husband is retired, I can still say that after all this time I am loving this lifestyle, even if we are travelling between 3 parks close to work until I retire, which hopefully won't be too far away. It has been great to test the waters so to speak and try to work out what we will need before the big trip, not to mention the $$$ needed to be well equipped, we have a 23 ft Jayco Sterling with all the amenities I had at home. I must say I am starting to get itchy feet now and we are planning to head off after Xmas. Has anybody else started off this way as I know it's ass about, but it is very expensive to travel and I wanted to make sure we purchase everything we need while the $$$$ are still coming in.

Great that you are enjoying our lifestyle before you hit the road full time. It doesn't matter which way round you do things. The important thing is to do it!

Hi John & Sharon welcome to the forum we hope you have a great time travelling and exploring this great country, I agree it can be expensive travelling but there are options to get casual work as you travel just to top up reserves and there are also many excellent free camp sites to help keep the cost down and after living in your van for an extended period you probably have everything you need but would be a good idea to pick up tne new camps book due out in the new year.
