did a job the other day and the bloke next door had a van with a fold up draw bar it was hinged rite at the front of it looked fairly strong but not my cup of tea . i didnt get to talke to him any one else seen aniy weard things like this
I have had 2 vans with fold up drawbars. The last one was an 18.6 single axle but this added an extra 40/50 kilos to the ball load tottaling around 260 kilos all up. The Kluger only rated to 200 ks. My foldup was rated to 3000ks.
Pain in the bum, up and down but I did get extra 1.2 metres from gutter.

but how did you get 1.2 from the gutter this one i saw when you folded up the tow hitch would have been half way up the front wall , or are you talking in a park and getting away from the road kerp to the van . that way you only used a small van area????????

Some years ago saw a 24ft van with one, on a permanent site, without the Fold up would not have fitted on the site, from memory it cost $1,200 for the conversion.

The foldup section was only about 300mm from the front of the van, this gave around 1.2mts to the road/gutter.
This refers to only when parked at home in the driveway due to limited space. Great idea but as I said, a pain and a nuisense when fully up too access front boot. Usually up 3/4.
If you have seen the design, there is no way these can break.
