Does anyone know if there is phone & internet access at Boynedale campground?  Also where is the new access road into the campground on the Calliope River near Gladstone?  I think you can't go across the old bridge since we were there last.  Any advice appreciated.

Can't comment on Boyndale, however, Calliope access - there are two accesses, one from south and one from north.  Believe the south side one is about 1k from the new bridge, the north side one is at the museum on the north side of the bridge.

Boynedale002.jpgManagement googled it yesterday (Boynedale Bush Camp) there is a mudmap on the net put there by the Gladstone Area Water Board. Dont know about phone and internet though.

According to CAW6, Qld site 107, Boynedale Bush Camp does not have phone/internet range

 

CAW6, Qldsite 105, Calliope river Rest Area has mobile range

I was there a couple of weeks ago, and there was no phone , tv or internet reception, except by satellite. You have to go up on a hill above the camp to get 1 or 2 bars on your phone or 3g internet dongle. Great spot , though. Will go back with a boat , next time. Bill

We were at both these camps earlier in this year, Boynedale bush camp & Calliope & both have good phone & internet service with telstra.

Yep - we had Telstra coverage on phone and internet at Boyndale. Apparently Optus you can get from around the lookout. It is indeed a lovely spot.

Sealed road into both sites. depends where you decide to park as there are places where wet would not be a problem
