MXS15 CTEK 12 VOLT 15AMP BATTERY CHARGER???

Morning all, I'm in the market for a new battery charger, am after something reliable to replace the $30 special I am using at the moment.

Found this listing on Ebay http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-MODEL-MXS15-CTEK-12-VOLT-15AMP-BATTERY-CHARGER-CARAVAN-AGM-REPLACES-XS15000-/321023784549?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4abe823665&_uhb=1#ht_3447wt_1163

Looks to be a decent unit! opinions regarding this one or recommendations re other makes would be of interest.
Has anyone dealt with this seller 4wdextreme?Smile

Hi Santa,

can't pass comment on the charger and have not dealt with that eBay seller.

However a fav seller of mine 'autoelecau' has the same unit for the same price. I've bought a lot off autoelecau and found them great to deal with, and usually as competitive or better across the board than a lot of others.

4wdextreme and autoelecau both have 100% feedback so service could be similiar.

Cheers

Hi Santa,

Have dealt with 4wdextreme on meany occasions and have had no issues (correct items, well packaged and speedy response).

When choosing a battery charger always check the input power required because this varies between brands for the same output amps. The C-tek brand is excellent so too Projecta- I have the 15amp 7 stage smart charger, which draws 408 watts meaning a small generator can comfortably handle it. Whilst not on the road, this projecta charger is plugged into mains power and maintains the batteries at optimum condition and has given no problems for the 3 years I have had it and no issues with the batteries either.

Using a good quality "smart" charger, CTEK or otherwise, will be much kinder to your battery(s) than the $30 cheapie, especially (but not only) if it's an AGM battery.

It may make a bit of hole in the new clothes or fix up the house fund. Just don't take it out of the booze, long lunches, or new fishing gear funds.wink

I've used CTEK chargers for many years and can recommend them. When dealing on Ebay I only deal with the "Top Rated Sellers" such as those suggested above.

Arrived this morning, great service from 4wdextreme.
Very neat compact unit, made in Sweden!!!! looks to be well put together, fan cooled.
Just hooked it up to the Transit and it seems to be behaving as it should.biggrin

Good choice you won't be disappointed.

I installed the C-Tek MX300 25amh in our van 6 years ago and is still working faultlessly.
