Like a couple of others here, tongue in cheek, thought it was funny, must have been a real item for sale in the times gone by......
I see running boards are still being used on some 4WD's though, they were very handy, especially when you had to help push start those older cars, push like heck, one on either side, then when they started jump on the running board until you could get back in the car.....
