Bad TV again

Yep, it's happened again. Bad reception on the box here in the CV park I am in, in Kiama. Any wonder though, the place is full of hills, hills everywhere you look. I will try my antenna up on the top of the Avan again tomorrow only this time I will try not to fall off the stupid steps, oh all right then I'm the stupid one.

I am in the middle of Redcliffe, QLD, and the tv reception isn;t good. I,mthinking of getting one of those omni- directional aerials. The one I have is damaged, but still works.Bill

You are much better off with a directional antenna, the db gain is generally better. You do need to know where to point them though and dont just go by every one elses in the cp, often they have no idea. seen many adjusting antennas after I set mine. For ditital tv you need rg6 quad sheild cable and compression fittings, any thing less your reception will be below standard.

You have my sympathies. We put up with bad or not tv reception for 3 years and recently took the plunge and invested in a vast satellite. In one word "fantastic". A happy tv watcher is a happy life. cheers.

Bugger if I would spend lots of money on TV reception or on TV sets. Talk about Free TV ,I have never seen so much rubbish in my live on the screen,(can't say box any more, it's all flat now). All night it shows ads after ads ,killings , swearing ,sex and the home renovater biggrin,I think I go and buy one biggrin ,maybe two biggrinbiggrin.OK I watch TV but only to keep my wife company oh , I nearly forgot, the  jingle " i love you " from big w or coles ?confuse it's coming out of my ears.

Cheers Hans smile

So I probably will miss it and want to watch something(like Big Brother)  no    so will get one real soon........biggrinbiggrin A decent aireal(?)  is the dearest item...

I came up in the world late this afternoon. I braved the step ladder and put the Antenna up in the mount on the roof of my Avan, re-tuned and BINGO all channels, so far anyway. All touch wood for me please.

As a bonus, I didn't fall of the steps this time.

milo you are doing very well, that park is atrocious as far as tv signal goes, you must just be in one of the very few spots that can actually get some signal.

I am never that lucky hence the vast systems getting much use

Or use an extendable painters pole. The aerial goes up in the air, but your feet stay on the ground !!!

VAST stands for Viewer Access Satellite Television. Doug would have to buy a dish and Set Top Box receiver.

we have had our dish for 11 years now and nobody has ever attempted to steal it, that does not mean it will never happen, I just put 3 pegs in the legs and hammer them into the ground, the new type dish that just sits on the ground would be easier to steal but you can also peg that one down, having said that I do not like the new sit on the ground one, you can move the one on a tripod easier for setting up the dish, just that I prefer the tripod one.

If you do purchase just ask Phil at Satplus Victoria for a tripod mount dish, I'm sure he will supply whatever you need.

I'm not sure how it would go on one of the roof sections Milo, I would just go with the portable one.

Thinking about it if you track wombat down just borrow his and forget to return it, better still I could borrow it and forget to return it. biggrin
