Meeting other Nomads

Hi Grey Nomads....we have only been on the road for just over a month but not sure how we meet fellow travellers..when we are in Caravan Parks everybody is very polite and always exchange "Good Morning" or "Hello" but that's where it ends...we spend most of our time sitting chatting to each other..just not sure how to go about meeting other nomads...would love to know about special places they may have visited in the area or helpful ideas about travelling..any ideas???

We use caravan parks. The place to chat with other campers are the camp kitchens or by going for a stroll. you won't meet people sitting inside but if you are outside your van others might stop for a chat. As far as meeting other grey nomads from this site it's a matter of letting us know where you are or keep an eye out for other peoples intended moves. Keep an eye on all sections of the forum helps as some might comment in solos another in get togethers etc.

Welcome to the forum Castaways, you will find they are a friendly and helpful lot here.  If you let us know what general area you are travelling in, someone may be in the same area and pm you for a meet up.

Cheers!

Chris

Don't wait for someone to offer to socialise, make the offer to them. if you say to your neighbours 'why don't you come over for a drink this afternoon' 9 times out of 10 they will be glad you made the approach. The 10th time you haven't lost anything by trying!

Welcome Castaways from me too, enjoy here and out in the playground.

I have been out in the playground for nearly a month now and post where I am heading or where I am each time I have relocated and have met heaps of great people from here. ALL great. A few of us are getting together tomorrow night for a feed and a chat, I am really looking forward to that.

Hi & welcome Castaways, you mentioned you're looking for a bit of warmth. Come on up to Katherine NT. 40 deg. and loads of humidity. Also lots of Mangoes that need picking and packing.

Welcome to the site Castaways - as someone else said - post where you are going to be - ask if anyone is in the area, and see if they want to meet up for coffee or whatever - hopefully the weather will pick up soon, and we can all get some sun - easier to socialise when the sun is shining I have found.

Welcome castaways. We've just met some great nomads by letting them know they were welcome to our area. Hopefully others will let you know if they are home when you get to their area. And this forum will also help you get to know other like-minded people.
