dougwe update #3

Well its now day 21.................Im 21 again yahhh.

I am really enjoying this travel thing and I tell you that for free. I left Canberra after a very enjoyable stay and travelled the Kings Highway to down town Batemans Bay, during the trip I had to go up and like everything that goes up it must come down and so did I go up and down what the locals here call Clyde Hill, me, well I call it  Clyde Mountain, all I can say is I am glad I only had the Avan Camper pushing me and not a big rig, very steep indeed.

I have never been to Batemans Bay so really didnt know what to expect but when I got here I was surprised how big it is, I think I must have been expecting a small fishing village or something, not sure why though.

I am here until Saturday 3/11/12 so heaps of time to be the tourist and to relax. I have driven around town to check out where everything is and collected some mail that I had forwarded to the post office here from home, that worked well.

I am continually amazed at the number of people that are also travelling, 1000s. Every night mainly 4x4s towing caravans or similar pull into parks, set up, then move on the next day, some go to heaps of trouble and get everything out and set it up just for one night. I must say I wouldnt go to so much trouble just for the one night.

I have found the local natives here in BB very friendly indeed and met up with some fellow GNs that live here or nearby, they made me feel very welcome and I was spoilt rotten, great people great place, what else does one want in life.

I am off to Mogo Zoo Tuesday, a place I have wanted to check out for a very long time so looking forward to that. Then Wednesday I am going to take myself on a cruise liner, well maybe a boat anyway and cruise around Clyde River for 3 hours. Thursday will be a short drive North along the coast for a few hours checking out different places and Friday I am going to the Batemans Bay Caravan and Camping Show. Saturday, well I leave this lovely town for Kiama.

I have attached a few happy snaps below.

Until my next update,

Glad you are enjoying the south coast. But don't tell everyone about it....we mightn't have room for all those caravans!

I haven't been to Kiama yet dazren. I think you have had a senior moment mate. I must say though I haven't heard back from her, she did say she was taking her poota along for the ride. Maybe she should have taken her MUM instead.

Who said that????

Hi Doug

I went to Mogo zoo with the safari about a month ago.  You will love it, there is so much to see there.  Make sure you don't miss the white lion or tiger (can't remember which, that was a month agobiggrin)  She is absolutely beautiful.  We had a guided tour by a couple of volunteers. They did a great job  making sure we got the best out of the visit and gave us heaps of info about the animals.  Didn't get to do the cruise as we had to move on the next day.  Wish we had had time to do it.  Maybe next time.

Cheers!

Chris
