RE: Conversion work.

Hey Brian, I'm sure all your doubts will soon be forgotten, you know a little faith doesn't hurt. I've been on the website of the company doing the conversion they look kosher to me.
If we pass on the road sometime I would love to see your 'xmas' gift
John

A little faith gets lost over a few months when Touch, Feel, Look, is not there, Hahahahaha Its six months since I bought it, And still only have piccys, Hahahaha

The conversion is not a problem, It looks really good, Its hidden things that worry me, Motor, tyres, Suspension, What works, what dont, Some things are just not planned for,

Piccys, versus a big hole in my bank account,

If you see me on the road, By all means stop me and a have a look, I dont bite, Very freindly,

I have been too busy working on it to reply, Steering and electrics have given me a lot of grief, I have the Steering all sorted out now hopefully, Has cost quite a few extra dollars, As it doesnt comply with our regs, I have had to get new parts made up and engineers certificates for the new parts,

The electrics, The 240 volt transformer cooked it self, It had been wired in wrong, Positive into the neutral side, Wonder it didnt light up the bus, Become live, I cut the transformer out with insulated bolt cutters rather than have my bus burn, It was red hot and cooking,

I havent really got into the electrics as yet, But I am looking at having problems with them, The face plate off the generator was sitting on the dash, So none of that side works, Gas either,
I am just getting it up to roadworthy standard, The electrics for inside, I have disconnected, Till I figure out what is wrong with them,

The gas issue will be sorted by a gas conversion company at a later stage, They write their own certificates for the gas installation,

The bus itself is really great, But the conversion, I am not happy with,

Interesting little project you've got there Brian. I once [ and once only ] applied for a job doing left to right conversions on Chevrolet Corvettes. Being a mechanic and having years of experience in workshops of all sorts I thought it would be an interesting change. The prospective employer took me for a tour through the workshop to see how things were done, boy, I couldn't get out of there quick enough. Being a very low car with huge engine and gearbox and lots of internals it appeared to be a nightmare to work on them.
As opposed to your project which to me seems to have at least good accessibility to do most of the work. Bad luck with the electrics, upside is you found out while not happily driving along miles from nowhere.
I have to say your unit looks great in the little picture on your posts. Some buses look a bit ordinary.

Sorry about the long wait, Thats just the way it is, Hahahaha

No electrics, No gas, No Fridge, I rigged up the stove to run on gas, One Year and two weeks ago, I paid for my Coach in Texas USA, Totally Sight Unseen,

I dont care what dont work, I just want to drive my Coach, All this Bloody Waiting is over,

2066 Kays later in a Registered, Wait for it, Waiting,

1988 Home Made Caravan,  Hahahahahaha,

Thats what its called,  Call it Dunny Paper if they want too, Its on the road, Rego'ed, Roadworthy, and its now going like the Clappers,

Foretravel and Grand Villa dont come up on their computer system.  SO YOU CANT HAVE IT, It dont exist,

I can, Actually,  think of a computer, out the back,  stamping its feet and throwing a tantrum, This one did, Hahahahaha,

36 Foot Slug, At 9 Ton, You think, Aye, Smart arse in a small car kept passing me and then slowing down, on the long passing sections on the road,

Road was chockers with people heading home,

He did it again right at the start of a long uphill passing lane, I Put the foot down, It clicked into top gear as I was passing him with a continuous line of cars up my arse, About 30 klicks faster than he was going, It was really starting to get up steam, Pulling like a train, Whooo whooo, Baabbeee,

Top gear is all get up and gone. Stuff, I pulled into the left lane, and backed her off,  Hahahaha,  every one following me did the same, One 4X4 did Hammer past, Hahahaha,  Private emergency vehicle, I suppose,

These things are built for long distance travel at high speed, Set the cruise, Sit back and enjoy the trip, And they do it so effortlessly,

Takes off from the lights like a car, Stops even Bloody quicker, A little putty knife comes out and scrapes you off the inside of the windscreen, Hahahaha OOOOhhh,  Touchy,

300 Caterpillar Horsies pushing from behind, Snicker Snicker, I accelerate up hills, Hahahaha

Its like driving a Very Big Luxury car, Super Dooper arm chairs, with arm rests, fully adjustable, It floats along on its air bag suspension, Feet flat on the floor,

Its a Breeze to Drive, Grouse, Comfy, Every thing exactly where I want it,  Ash tray not,  It needs a rearranging of the cup holders and trays, Etc,

between the seats, But thats just Personal preference,

Lilydale, Seymour, Heathcote Bendigo, Castlemaine, Laverton, Werribee, Geelong, Colac, Terang. Cobden, Port Campbell, Ottways, Apollo Bay, Great Ocean road,  GOR, Its not very Squeezy on a big Motor bike,

Almost scraping the left rear end on the vertical cliffs, and Nose well out over and on the other side of the white line,

I stop for other Buses, Trucks, We cant pass any way, and coming through the hills, I have to wave some of these clods past in the short passing lanes,

My feet are about level with the car roof tops, I have a view over every thing, Visibility is excellent, My big mirror can have blind spots at corners or roundabouts, I have missed seeing a car,  A cuppla times, Bit scary, You quickly learn the wavy snake neck dance,

It dropped a seal on the Auto Levellors in Semour, Luuuuucky, $7-00 dollar part, Stops a $70,000-00 Dead in its tracks, Well thats what it took to make it mobile again, not fix the broken part, I just joined the inner and outer hoses together with the $7-00 part. Totally bypassing the Levellors,

It was just a trial to see if they would level its self on the street in Seymour, They did lovely, I dont need them, I am sleeping in real bed tonight, Pack them up and lock them away, Its all Fully Auto,

Lock up Coach, Walk away. Looking as usual for suspects under Coach,  OOOOOOOOHHHHHHHH, That looks like my lovely brand new, (Extremely Expensive,) Steering fluid gushing down the street, It is, It is, I look under Coach, Its just like a little boy relieving himself under there, Coming from the levellor,

Damn it, I cant stop it, I cant see where its coming from, Some sort of gizmo on the side of the levellor, My Hydraulics leak, any where, They dump 5 litres of steering fluid on the ground, It gets very Exy, The steering hoses blew 3 times, **** low pressure hoses from the USA, They have to have high pressure both sides of the steering box. Or blow hoses, 20 litres of oil later, I got the right hoses,

4 Auto Shops, Had the fitting in my hand, and a young diesel mechanic, Who directed me to a truck parts shop in Seymour,

They all had me worrying that this was some weird Yankee thread, I am damn sure I have them sitting on my bench at home, Eyes are going bad, Such is life I guess,

This old bloke in the Seymour Truck Parts shop, Can I help you, Yes, I would like one of these please, Handing him the part,

Oh Yeah, This is part number 107483094-274 QRS- 30000-876, I will get you one, He trotted off and came back with it,

I had an Alziemers moment and started to argue that he had the wrong part, I wanted the female ends, he had the male ends,

He patiently explained, It was the right part I needed, Not wanted, Hahaha, Bang head on counter, Yes, I am very stressed by this time,

It was the right part, $7=00 and 3 or so litres of new Steering fluid,

Now to build ramps so I can work under neath it, Safely,

Carry lots of little air, gas and hydraulic fittings,

Yes, That weirdo Yankee thread I mentioned, 7/16 Imperial thread, Young people dont know what it is, My shed, One side Metric, the other side, Imperial, and they dont mix or are they interchangeable,

Coach ran like a charm all 5 days, Grouse to sleep in, Queen size bed, Full one, No condensation any where,

It even pulled my tractor out of a bog,

Worth the Hassles,Stress, Trauma and Wait, Wait, Wait, And then wait some more,  Did I mention waiting at all, You Betcha, She certainly is a head turner,

Say hello if you see me, I dont bite, I cant have a beer with you, Unless I am parked for a day after  the beer, .00 On my Coach,  Not even one lite beer to celebrate,

PITA, Thats just the way it is,

Hope you enjoy the piccys, This is from the passenger side, It has been changed to right hand drive, I am driving, Not taking piccys,

I just love the driving seat height, Perched up like Jackie in a tree top, Its Magic, Very quiet, 3 people can talk quite easily with out yelling, Driving at 100 KPH, Its licensed for 5 seats, Moving,

Seats 7 in the lounge, Parked, Sleeps 5 comfortably, 8, Those 3 will be almost comfortable, two in the driving chairs and one on the floor, All Chairs are fully reclineable, Lay out almost flat, Very comfy tho,

400 Min Solar panels on the roof, MPPT Controller, She's a Goer now,
