Your not half joking Mate, It was bought sight unseen, I only have piccys, You have seen as much of it as me, Its a bit of a scary process buying some thing 12,000 miles away.
I am dying to see it in the flesh, The company in California doing the conversion said it was a good one,
I will park it in my front yard and spend a couple of days going over it, Probably sleep in it, and see how every thing works, Its got more bells and whistles than you can poke a stick at,
I was a bit concerned with the approval as the bus is a 1989 model, but the ID plate said it was August 1988 for the truck chassis, So it was a big relief when I got the notification that it was Okay to import,
Aussiespec caravans are doing the conversion and the shipping, Their work looks very professional from the piccys, Those piccys above are from the company doing the conversion,
Its worth their while doing a good job, as the advertising from me is very beneficial to them for importing more RV's to Australia, They will make a quid out of it if all goes well,

Mr B2 is my name on here just to keep the Forums separate,
And today I am a very Happy Chappy, My approval to import my Bus from the USA came through, So as soon as the conversion is finished, I can put it on ship and get it here,
Whoo Whoo, Retirement is looking Rosy, Hope fully it should be here before Xmas,
I don't think I would have the guts to buy sight unseen, hope it all qork out for you, as you say the company that are doing the reno know their buisness
I also bought My sailing Catamaran from Fiji, sight unseen, I wasnt dissapointed, You really need to do your home work tho, Many months on the internet, Google is my friend,
I would be very interested to see your comments when your vehicle arrives from the USA, your opinion on the conversion and the Australian compliance. I'm considering importing a motorhome or a fifthwheel and truck.
I spend a lot of time in the US, I'm there until January 2013.
If your over there, you can go round and see some RV's for sale, check them out,
They are quite cheap for the older ones.
Dont get one that has been sitting for years, They fall to bits when you start them up, blow all the seals, Etc, Or one from a trailer park or permanently lived in,
A few more piccys of my conversion work, Looks like it will be here for Xmas,
All RO RO shipping is booked out till after Xmas, so Mike at Aussiespec is sending my RV on a flat pack for the same cost as RO RO,
I should be able to drive it out of the shipping terminal with a temporary rego permit,
He has a couple of other RV's currently available for sale, from $50,000 up wards,, all converted to Aussie ADR's and landed here full cost inclusive of GST and Customs,
looks like my boat will also be repaired before Xmas,
I bought my ski's retail online from Utah, With $100-00 air postage, I paid $750 with Bindings, $1200-0 just for the plamks here That was the cheapest, and a min of $450 to $650 for the same bindings,
And Aussie dealers wonder why I buy overseas, Same as my RV, I couldnt build one here for the price I am getting mine for,
I am looking at buying a mobile home from aussiespecuscaravans and am very interested in your experiences. Whereabouts in Oz are you? I would love to see your mobile home when it arrives. I have quite a few questions. Is there any chance of chatting to you on the phone? My number is 0413 548 259. Keep the pics coming.

Thanks Michael.
I am in Melbourne Michael.
I have had two people actually look at it, And both have said it looks good,
One from Queensland who is booked in to get his Grand Villa done straight after mine, He bought his in May and been driving it around the States,
Well its finally on the ship, COLUMBIA HIGHWAY and its due in Melbourne on the 15/2/2013. The wait is killing me, as I did buy it in August 2012,
I can get it about 10 days after it gets here, After customs have cleaned it, Dirt on the wheels, Etc,
I am starting to get excited, First trip will be to Tassie, See if I can get the Kawasaki inside the bus, My Blackbird wont fit, its also too heavy, Too expensive for me to tow a trailer over on the ship,
I bought my caravan, sight unseen, on ebay, and then closed my account. I'm still living in the van, and will travel with it when the time comes. Your MH rig looks like a bewdy. I hope you have many happy, safe kms in her. Do you have a name, or is "B2" it?

Thanks Granny, Its a worry when you buy sight unseen, There's a lot of things that can go wrong, Fingernail biting stuff,
I hope your van was everything you hoped for,
At the moment its Mr B2, But when it gets here, Who knows, It might get a better name, Some thing that grabs me, I need the bus here for that tho.
My boat will be Mr B1, its getting a name change, From Tere Hau Nui, It means. smooth sailing in Tahitian, But I still have to tell every one what it means,
Its like a tattoo thats in Japanese or Chinese,
My Motor Bike is called the MOPED, My car was called the Beast,
It became everything I hoped for after I pumped a tube of Sikaflex Marine & Auto filler into the cracks. There were some watermarks on the inside, and I attempted to make sure they didn't get any worse. However a wet season in Cairns produced some wonderful interior water features. No more water features now. Mechanically it need some wheel bearing, and I've changed the tyres, but otherwise she's a bewdy! That's my Roma.

Glad you got it fixed,
Any bearing company, Bearing Service, Etc, have bearing sets for about 10 bucks a set. Car parts or dealers are a lot more, amd they are easy to change,
Take the wheel off, Take out the split pin, undo the nut and the lot will fall off in your hand, wash with petrol and put the new bearings back on, pack them with grease first, do the nut up just with your fingers tighly, and put the split pin back in and bend it over, Fixed, It helps if you put the wheel back on as well,
Its sitting on Webb dock, I cant even see it, I walked all round the dock, But it is a security area, and you cant walk on the docks,
AQIS and Customs will be looking at it today,
When I get to look at it, hopefully this week some time,
I have temporary rego already in my pocket, so I can drive it home,
XMAS in March for me, Kid with a new toy,
Buying sight unseen, You need to interpret the piccys, You have to look at them unemotionally, Is that a wet spot, is that rot, rust, decay, Whats that line across the piccy, more piccys on that spot thanks,
Its hard, very scary, I am investing a lot of my hard earned cash here, If it dont look good, walk away, I did on quite a few RV's, If the piccys are crap, the RV is worse in real life,
I think I have got a good one, going on the piccys from the one I bought and the ones I have looked at,
I wont know till it is here in my front yard,, And I can Drool over it, and find out what is actually wrong with it,
Even if I have to put in another 10 grand, which I wont have to do, Its still a cheap bus to any thing I can buy here,
I have my fingers and toes crossed, and a few other thingys as well,
Hey Brian, I'm sure all your doubts will soon be forgotten, you know a little faith doesn't hurt. I've been on the website of the company doing the conversion they look kosher to me. If we pass on the road sometime I would love to see your 'xmas' gift John
