Hi all we have a toilet in our van that goes smelly after a couple of days we are useing the green tablets so we can empty it into a septic tank

our toilet does not have a place for the pink liquid that helps with that ,we only add the tablets

what can we use to stop this please any ideas would be a great help

A few drops of eucalyptus oil every couple of days does the trick .

The CHEAP home brand nappy soaker works really well - had some of the "genuine" one, and the loo got smelly very quickly. Have heard of people having a spray bottle with either eucalyptus or disinfectant (diluted) and spraying the bowl with that -

Don't like the chemical stuff that you can get - all you smell is the chemical when you come in the door - yukk!!

I agree with the above,  cheap brand Nappisan, and a little eucalyptus oil, seems to work well ''so far''

The only time i thought that combination had let me down ? It turned out that i was parked next to a ''wombat'' hole biggrinbiggrin

Margaret having used a hire MH recently we ditched the stuff that they had given us for the napisan and eucalyptus oil option also. I am so glad that I am a member on here and had read this option previously. For 11 days we only had one day where the toilet a little smelly and it was when the boys had decided to be lazy and put the chemical sachet in, instead of the home made stuff.

On reading up on eucalyptus oil it seems it has antibacterial properties so wouldn't this mean a nappy wash and eucalyptus oil mix could be not used in a septic tank?
