New England Hwy Qld

They must be pouring all their money into the Bruce Hwy - the New England Hwy on the Qld side is quite rough. We were bounced all over the place.

Hi Neilnruth, if they are throwing all the money at the Bruce it sure as hell isn't enough. It's still a disgrace as are most roads in QLD. I will never tow a caravan in QLD again.

Welcome to the forum elsbrook. Sorry you had such a bad experience in Qld. I come from NSW but I'll still apologise.

LOL Appologies not necessary. Bad roads don't spoil a great trip because there are so many other plusses for QLD. We are from WA and have been on the road since April 10. So far we have covered about 1/3 of the plan. Lifes too short to let bad roads spoil it.

We are at Goondawindi until Monday when we cross into your state, heading for Lightning Ridge.

Hi the roads are still bad from the 2010/2011 floods, we lost the whole side of the blackbutt range which cost a lot and has only just been open to two lanes, thats how long it took to fix. A lot of roads have only been fixed when it needed, I know of some still not done due to no funds as the range was a blow out figure. It will probably get worse now we have these rains. If you drive steady there is a lot to see in QLD but maybe not right now.

Lots of flooding occuring up and down the QLD coast and into inland.

Take care

Charley

Welcome to the forum from us Charley. Yes, we'll visit Qld again some day. Too good to leave off the 'bucket list'.

Queensland is a big state that has copped a real pizzling from floods the last 2 or 3 years .

Takes time and a hell of a lot of money to repair the damage that has been done .

I don't reckon they're doing too bad up there .
