all people who live in Australia (the lucky country) are truly blessed with health, quality education, above average levels of home ownership and wealth and many of us are lucky enough to own a caravan and spend time touring this beautiful country, yes we are very blessed.

Heard someone on the Ray Hadley show yesterday saying his wife had just returned from a European holiday.Said that she could buy a TV dinner in the UK for less than a dollar Australian. The same meal here was nearly $6 I Wonder about the quality of the meal though.

Funny that she never mentioned petrol which two weeks ago was One Pound Eighty Pence per Litre. I was told by someone just back from holiday

With the Aussie dollar buying sixty pence.....................I'll let you do the math.

I think you have to buy a TV licence just to watch TV over tthere too .Over a Hundred Pounds.

I will have to Google that and find out the exact cost.

Done it's, 145 Pounds Fifty Pence just to watch a TV and beleive it or not you can still buy a licence to watch Black and White TV for 49 Pounds.

Yes we do live in the "Lucky country."

Cheers

Trevor

Australia the lucky country, how often do you hear that?  Having travelled all over the world I know this is true, people complain about the cost of fuel here in Aus, I say to those people go overseas and then come back and tell me that, I bet you will not.

Now you know why there are so many Poms over here. Its not just the weather, is the wages ans lifestyles. You drive from on end of UKto the other in one day-try that in OZ!But I must admit its a great place to visit with the dollar so high. See ya soon, Bill

My parents had the choice of Canada, South Africa or Australia when they emigrated.  I thank my lucky stars they chose Australia.

Cheers!
