if any one is travelling my way (shoalhaven nsw) and has a pop top campervan,
Id appreciate a visit.. too see how one would fit thru my carport...

If it were a simple little carport id pull it down but unfortunately its part of the house...

What would you do for a tv antenna on the van ?
Are those portable ones any good?

Milo,

On the sides of the Roller Door are a couple of tracks, they have a couple of stoppers on either side where you roller door stops at the top.

You may be able to raise the roller door opening a bit by undoing the track fixtures and moving your stoppers up, or depending on your door may need to raise the runners a bit. You don't have to remove the roller door to do this.

I raised mine for my campervan which needed a 2.1 clearance to the top of the pop top as mine wasn't high enough, worked ok for me.

Saves having to remove the roller door completely. Be sure to allow for any sloped driveway coming into the carport, this could make a difference of the clearance needed depending on the angle.

Ask you handyman you used for your fence if you're not sure how to do it, he may be able to help you.

just measured with the door this time , 2.3 metres is the hight clearance i need

Yes, you are actually raising the part of the door that closes down so that it goes up higher, bearing in mind that you can only go up a few centimetres to the bottom of the "roll" by adjusting the side runners like I described before. All this does is let the door bottom (or top when you have it up) go up further giving you a little extra height. I hope that makes sense.

Wouldn't be enough for a fixed high top campervan though, only a pop top when in the down position.
