Hi Ellice - we use the blue aquachem and have never had a problem with odour. We use public toilets when available but the on-board loo is used at night and when travelling for both jobs (1s and 2s) - lasts at least a week before it is emptied - sometimes longer

We use the home brand nappy soaker, 1 lidfull directly into the cassette when emptied, and every couple of days thereafter - no odours, and breaks it all down pretty well.

You can also use citric acid - available in the cooking section of supermarket - half the container in water, swirl it around and let it sit - gets rid of the crystallisation etc.

We use the nappy soaker as well and it works a treat- the thing is as there are no "chemicals" in the mix I dont feel bad about emptying it in public toilet if I really have to.

A few drops of eucalyptus oil will fix any odour problems

I also use the nappy soaker, really surprised at how well it works.  No odours at all.  It is Woolworths Homebrand Nappy Treatment Plus.  I believe some brands are not as effective as others.  This one works a treat.

Cheers

Chris

It seems the cheaper ones work better than the more expensive, for some reason.

Agree with all the Napisan posters & Ellice after a few empties/napisan use you will find that there will be NO scale on the inside of your casette AT ALL . I dissolve 3 dessertspoon in about 500 ml hot water then into cassette. If not emptying toot by 4th day drop a spoonful in. If I remember I add the Eucalyptus but only for the pleasant gum smell! It really is a wonderful, cheap effective way to keep toot clean. We went off the chemicals 5 years ago when first read about this on CF
