I love Bribie Island too. Haven't been there for years and want to go badly, hopefully one day soon.

I'd be afraid to go now Marj.    It will have changed so much since I was there last, I think I'd get too upset.   Same when I go to visit my sister at Glasshouse.  Hate to see what's been done to the country down there.  crycrycry

Cheers,

Sheba.

I haven't been there for about 12 years, going south down the main freeway and meant to turn off for Caboolture, somehow got confused with the slip roads and ended up on Bribie Island instead. Glad we did!

We stayed at the caravan park on the far east side of the island, was small but good, a Top Tourist park it was then.....

It must be at least 10 years since I was last there. I remember a great little takeaway food place to the right after you get off the bridge. For some reason I think it was painted blue, and made the best hamburgers.
There were a few other shops there with it.

Yep, thats the one we stayed at earlier this year, nice caravan park, nice people, but as everywhere it seems, a bit crowded.

We had an especially good time on Bribie due to the hospitality of Pejay!

They also owned the TT at Aspley before it got taken over by permanents, the police were frequent visitors there, was very different from the one on Bribie Island though even then had a big compliment of permanents.....I think it is closed down now and possibly sold.  It was behind the shopping centre and bus station at Aspley.   (Not the Big 4 also in Aspley which I believe is quite nice)

I love Bribie too. I went to a wedding there a few years ago, and we all stayed at the golf club on the ocean side. We had a great weekend. Must go back. Actually, I have a cousin living at Ningi, so a good excuse to go.

That was probably the last time I swam in the ocean.
