RE: cooking equpment

I think it is important to have a good quality flask.  When moving for the day, I always boil up an extra kettle of water and place it in the flask.  When we stop for elevenses, we have boiling water ready for the cuppa.  No need to turn on the gas and wait for the kettle to boil.

We also travel with:

Weber Baby Q

Two burner electric hot plate for those times when we are on power, also electric jug and toaster for the same reason - why use you gas when you are paying for power.

Eco Pot for slow cooking - the boiler also comes in handy when cooking up the crabs and yabbies etc (when you finally catch enough)

Corelle dinner set, quality cutlery, sharp knives - we are not camping now!  Avanti coffee cups, turned wooden wine goblets.

My circulon saucepan set is a bit over the top, but I was not prepared to leave them behind.

Silicon bakeware (light weight and flexible, easy to stuff into a corner of a cupboard)

A selection of stackable plastic where, good for pantry items, like baking commodities, also for left overs in the fridge or freezer, packing picnics etc.  I rarely use cling wrap these days.  Also use (and re-use) zip lock sandwich and snack bags for freezing and storing.  All my herbs were decanted from their glass bottles into the small zip lock bags, labelled and placed into one container in my pantry

I could go on.....

I have not used, or rarely use:

An Iron (rare) ironing board (never used)

Hair dryer (only for defrosting the fridge)

Forgot that link no longer works.  Just Google "Kelly Kampa Kooka".  You'll get it there.

Cheers,

Sheba.

I have been trying to find something I read about some time back. Not sure what site it was on but it was from a lady who used a stainless steel colander and I think she put metal skewers through the holes with heat beads or similar underneath and used it as a cooker. Has anybody else heard of this?
