4 hours from Newcastle NSW

Does anyone have any good ideas for camping with our Jayco Eagle for the long weekend? Somewhere near water would be nice but without the masses. We have only bought our camper this year and are keen to find those "special" spots.

Cheers!

Welcome to the forum, I myself don't post often but read plenty and glean lots of good ideas...Clarence Town Caravan Park is another suggestion.....I haven't stayed there but friends have. You can camp on the lower level which is on the river bank (pwd) and they allow fires etc. Am told it is an excellent spot and not too expensive. They do have a website. Clarence Town is situated north of Maitland on the Williams River, lush countryside with good fishing in the river. http://www.exploreaustralia.net.au/New-South-Wales/Hunter-Valley-and-Coast/Clarence-Town/Williams-River-Holiday-Park-camping-area

Welcome memem. Have you been to any of the spots on the rivers near Gloucester? Bretti Reserve, Gloryvale Reserve, Woko Campground in Woko National PArk. All get ticks in Camps 6 book - nos 340, 341, 342 and only 1 1/2 - 2 hrs from Newcastle.

Theres great camp spots at the beach in the Crowdy Bay National Park near Taree. Diamond Head campground #77 in CAW6 . Or a couple of others in the area. National park fees apply.
