RE: Forum Snipers...

Gday...

I think the reason this is such a popular (friendly) forum is it is more like a chat room than a forum.

My real name is Helen - Esmeralda is what my grandfather used to call me before I was born. The only thing my parents called me apart from Helen was Princess - and that still comes out occasionallybiggrinbiggrinbiggrin   My little sister had a toy horse - one of those things kids sit on and scoot along with their feet - and it was called Princess Helen - she just joined both names together.  There is a 15 year gap between us and my friends used to think it was hysterical.

Sorry Beth. Just checked this thread after ages and yes, it's Ruth who does the posting!! But Neil likes to hear what is happening too. We usually sit side by side - me at the laptop, hubby at the desktop. Me on the forum, hubby on genealogy.

The very reason I have joined this forum, laid back easy going with others doing the same thing, same general values, ie respect and tolerance,,,, not the level of agro as on some other forums and people willing to help/assist/join in with others, its great.

The last forum I was on for about 9 years turned sour,,, mostly one-upmanship (could it be testosterone fuelled - lol) and some vitriole. The forum chased me to stay but it lost its pleasure/enjoyment factor. Good moderators can ensure the standard IF required, but this in itself seems to aggrevate some.

Still getting used to the GN format, so hopefully I'll be more active. I'm a bit of a techie so like that area best and the funnies get me going.

Cheers Baz

GD, I did the same and then HW told me I had to come here so I did, I only have time for one GN forum cos I am also on 4 other flight sim forum site's and there are only so many hours in a day.
