UK forums

Gary and I heading to the UK in September, hiring a motor home, second best to our caravan. I thought I would sus out some forums. Looking for free camping ideas, called wild camping over there. They do not have any publications similar to Camps 4,5,6 over there. They have web a site but you have to pay 15 pounds to join and be able to find out where the camp spots are. Also looked at a motor home site, joined and had lots of people responded with some great info and were intersted in our travels then....nothing, had to pay 10 pound if wanted to continue. Made me appreciate that we are so lucky to have free sites like this one here in Australi Thanks Cindy Glenda

A few years ago we spent 3 months in the UK. Bought a motorhome (sold it a few days before we left to come home - at a profit). We free camped all the time except for 4 nights. I could look up my old diary for that year if you want some info on where we stayed.

Thanks Glenda, sorry I couldn't have been more of a help.

Hope Kandagal can give you a bit more info.

Yes we are very lucky we have some much free info on the internet for travelling Oz, there is a price for the Camps books but worth the weight in gold IMHO and a couple of nights free camping instead of caravan parks soon pays for them....smile

Hi Glenda, we too are heading to UK in September luckily we have family to stay with but wild camping is easy over there as you can basically park where you like they don't have as many restrictions as here. My sister does it all the time to go hill walking.
This site you can register for free, might be worth a look for you.

Have a great holiday.

Thanks Jean I did register on this site but if you want to access the wild caming sites you have to pay 15 pounds. Looking forward to seeing what it is like over there. Cheers Glenda
