Picnic & Get Together at Whiteman Park - North/East of Perth (suburbs) - August or September 2012

What a fantastic day with some fantastic people, I will let others comment on how they found it.

I am afraid I am in love with a female that was there called Gracie, she is a black labrador belonging to one of those who attended, what a wonderful dog she is and well looked after and in top condition, a credit to the owners...smile

Gracie also like ice cream biggrin

I did not like the first shot of Gracie with the lead on so I removed it

Thanks to all those who attended and made it such a great day, the weather was kind for most of the day but we had the biggest and best shelter in the park so it didn't matter!  Even Gracie didn't get wet!

Gracie also like ice cream biggrin  (and Wombats, she pretended to be licking the ice cream but was really thinking of Wombat pie! wink biggrin )

I did not like the first shot of Gracie with the lead on so I removed it (Nice shots Scotia, thanks, pleasure meeting you both, you were still there for a fair amount of time though, we left not much after you did)  Happy and safe travels for Scotland! smile

Hey, what a top day it was! Georgeous Gracie stole the day (and a few hearts) and it was really good to meet some nomadic folk who until now had been names on a computer screen. Thoroughly enjoyed myself.
Cheers, Tony

Edit. If not it coulld have been Donnybabes (Alfreda) Her home is the one behind me in my avatar.

Does anyone know who the lady GN was who came along late with a friend?  They were hoping to meet up with Animal Carer, who didn't make it for some reason. confuse

They didn't come and say goodbye when they left, but whoever you were thanks for coming along too.smile

I was there. Agreat day and met some very nice people. Unfortunately Animalcarer was not there but hopefully will make contact when they are in Perth. Thanks everyone for the encouragement regarding my 1st solo....coming soon I hope. I was so enthused I unpacked and repacked my little van today. Trialed a few things out, they all worked out...especially the lollies. Not my fault mum wasn't home.

It was a pleasure meeting you Colls, and a very nice lady you are too!  Best wishes for your up and coming trip, I am sure everything will go well!.biggrin

HW, thanks for that, yes it was Alfreda, I remember her name now that you have mentioned it, I can't recall the name of her travelling partner though.   smile

I hope Animal Carer was ok, she seemed very keen to be there, Alfreda was waiting for her too as well as Colls, Alfreda had rung her but got no reply.....

Yes I did Wommie, but didn't get a reply, hope all is well at her end.

Welcome to the forum Tattie, were you the lady with Alreda?  If not did you come over to the shelter we were in?  I did leave my mobile number at the Info centre in case anyone turned up late.   If I missed you somehow I apologise, the group was going every which way looking at things/trams/lolly shop etc so a bit hard to keep track of everyone, although we did have lunch together under the shelter.

Alfreda was the one I was thinking of and her friend, I had forgotten the name. (Old timers disease). confuse

Those that were there that I can think of were Alfreda and friend, Basil Faulty and Carol, Gnome and Carol,TonyD, Colls, Wombat and Mrs Wombat, Blaze and Mrs Blaze, Scotia and Mr Scotia, Duh and Mrs Duh,  from memory....and of course Gracie the Labrador.  My apologies if I missed anyone....

Tattie too but not sure where she was......

 Shailer Park

Hi SP,

Sorry I did not get to talk to you as when you arrived we were just getting ready to go to the tram ride and the tram was waiting for us for it's last trip of the day, and when we returned you were gone, we will have to catch up again soon.

I also was looking forward to meeting AC, perhaps she will let us know when she is in Perth again.

Welcome to the GN site, I'm sure you will enjoy yourself here, if you have any questions do not be afraid to ask as the members on here are very helpful.

AC did say she was attending so not sure what happened.

They are staying at the caravan park at Guilderton on the Moore River, 94 kms north of Perth at present as far as I know, a long way to travel though, see;

Sorry if I misunderstood that AC, I thought I had read somewhere you were at Guilderton, so assumed it at the C/Park....

Ellice and Peter were not at Whiteman Park as they could not make it either.

Those that attended had a great time from what I could see and we really enjoyed ourselves.

I only stepped in to help organise it at the last moment as I returned earlier then expected from the south/west and JRH had an urgent and important medical apointment to attend to so could not be there to organise things.

In reply to howard and I not attending. As you know Howard has had bowel cancer, sometimes things can be a bit tricky. He has a permanent bag, without going into details, the bag has a mind of its own. Please members feel free to pm me, and I will get back to you, I am a very open person, and treat people with respect. Unfortunately I am concerned that people take it upon themselves to surmise , assume, We are not at Guilerton camping ground. We are privately sitting a property. I dont sit on the computer all day, nor do I have my phone as an appendage. I would love to meet up before we take off. And will try our darnest to achieve this. Peace out.

Like what ?     You don't know the circumstances that prevented them from getting there.  Why are you making it sound as though they deliberately didn't go, just to upset everybody who did get there ?

Have you never made arrangements to go somewhere, then have something unexpected crop up, and make that impossible ?

You'd be one of the few if you haven't.

Hope you're as hard on yourself, as you are on others.

Cheers,

Sheba.

I belive we all enjoyed the day, (thanks Vic) and some things do crop up to stop people attending after saying they will be there, that's life, I am sure AC will meet up with some members at some stage of her visit to WA

Thanks Wombat, yes I understand these things happen and was not castigating anyone who didn't make it, more concerned for their welfare as were others there who had arranged to meet up.

I don't intend being involved in organising another get together though, I'll leave that to others (not to say I wouldn't attend one though).
