Where-abouts did you have in mind Romy ? I want to sell my place. Just under 2 1/2 acres, half-way between Rockhampton and Emu Park. It's a Geodesic Dome. 3 bedrooms, 2 bath-rooms. Huge shed, workshop, boatshed, and double car-port. Solar hot water. Will e-mail more Pics. if you're interested.

Coleman Camping Cookbook

The fact that you can create a recipe on a Coleman stove doesnt make it camping friendly, a niggling issue the Coleman licensing people forgot when they built this app. This collection of recipes would be more at home at home, especially if your home uses lots of sugar and fat. There are more artery-clogging recipes in here than healthy, thats for sure. Of course, thats just me: It has a 3-star rating in the app store, so download it yourself and tell me if Im wrong.

Hi Marg, I don't know how TV programs work, but you both came across as being very natural, and we really enjoyed watching the show each week, and catching up in the magazine as well.

We intend to sell our home, move our goods and chattel to the coast, put our cats into the cattery there for a couple of weeks, and live in our caravan in a caravan park until we find and buy our new home. Ideally, we would like something with a small bit of acreage (maybe 1 or 2 acres) but whether we'll find something we can afford to buy is a different matter. Still, we remain positive.

Hubby won't be retiring for a couple of years yet, but I think I will be at the end of this year. We've just had our first little grand daughter, so I don't want to be tied down by a job when it comes to travelling to visit her.

I'm sure my hubby didn't approve of my iPad purchase at first either, Marg! Admittedly, we did already have a home laptop and a notebook laptop as he pointed out, so we didn't really need anything else, but I'm like you and like to keep abreast of technology. I think if you don't keep up, you'll get left behind, and I don't want to be left behind.

I love the iPad. I did wait a while until iPad2 came out though, because I thought it might have had a USB port in it, but it didn't (and neither does iPad3

). However, it goes everywhere with me, even overseas, and its portability is invaluable with keeping in contact with family and friends. When travelling outback with our caravan, we can quickly and easily access caravan park accommodation, weather reports, road and river conditions as well - all very useful when it's raining! I had to laugh of your practical joke using Endomondo! Your sons know you too well. Still, it was a fun thing to do.

I have downloaded it to both my iPad and iPhone, but haven't had the chance to use it yet. Do you know if it works overseas? It would have been very useful for the 17 days I spent in Italy in June. Turn me around twcie and I'm lost.

Depends on what you're into Rosie. I've just downloaded "You Don't Want to Know" by Lisa Jacksom. It's a recent release thriller type one. I also have a couple of light reads by Maeve Binchy called "Light a Penny Candle" and "Evening Class", and then there's "Divergent" by Veronica Roth which is a futuristic read. If you're into raunchy, there's the much talked about Grey triolgy, "Fifty of Shades of Grey", "Ffty Shades Darker" and "Fifty Shades Freed". I have read the first book in the trilogy, but be pre-warned, it is VERY VERY out there. I don't have that one on my iPad though. It's on my Kindle. Happy reading with whatever you end up buying though!

By the way, remember if your eyes start getting sore reading a book on the ipad, it's because it's backlit. To avoid this, go into any of your book's story pages and you will see a small letter a and a capital letter a (aA) in the top right corner of any page. Tap on it, and a sliding bar will drop down and you will then be able to adjust the brightness of the back lighting to your comfort.

Milo, the ipad 1, 2 and 3 car chargers can be bought from Bagworld apparently (www.bagworld.com.au) for around $70. The one I found online is a Targus brand.

how do you find the battery on the ipad , I have the new one (ipad3) and find it does use the power quickly

Can we get a car charger for them ?

and a portable battery pack of some sort while away from power??

You can buy little solar panels for the phones now. I got mine of Ebay.
Leave it in the sun all day till your phone needs charging. I leave mine on the dash. They are the same size as a mobile phone and only cost around 20.00.

Hi Milo, I have an ipad2, and how long the battery lasts depends on how much you use it, I guess. I personally don't know of a battery pack, but you can get a car charger that slots into the cigarette lighter. I don't have one myself though, but would like to get one when we eventually retire and start travelling more often. When we are travelling on holidays, I find if I charge the ipad overnight, it lasts me well and truly all day and that night at least. However, I don't use it much during the day, but at night I upload photos taken during the day and write up my journal of our day's events. I generally get at least two days (perhaps I should say nights) out of it before I have to recharge it again. Hope that helps. I'll find a link for you for the car charger.

Have been using 4 apps which people recommended here, and 100% recommend them all

1, find a park- allows you to search by park name or town, and filter the search by desired features, Give contact details and some photos
2.wikihood - Wikihood instantaneously displays what is important and interesting at a given location. Great maps.
3. wikicamps australia- you can add good sites to it, searches for camp sites using your current location. Search includes free camps and dump points
4. oz road trip - lots of tourist advice and photos, easy way to plan a trip.

Hi Rip & Rosie What a brilliant little app Wikihood is! Found interesting info about the area we are staying in in Adelaide. I can't find anything for "find a park" and "oz road trip" .. is that the name that you used for them? Cheers

A couple of good ones for android are the state fire watch apps. These tell you if there is fires in your area so you can be prepared to move if neccessary.

I also use the aldi app and also another that gives recipes after you add a few items. eg "CHICKEN" will give you a selection of chicken recipes.

I use xclinometer as a bubble and like it
I also have a dish pointer but I dont use the satellite anymore but might come in handy to save someone elses marriage LOL.

If you type in a description of what you want you can often find many jsut have to sort the chaff from the wheat.

Wombat, Dick Smith should have them, but I bought mine from JB Hi-Fi. You might pay a tiny bit more for it there, but at least you will get one.

thanks Romy but I'm addicted to eBay, biggrin if my one does not arrive they have said they will post another one, so I think I will have to wait another 8 weeks this is unusual for eBay items to take so long, but if it gets to the urgent stage I will go and see dicky smith biggrin
