Mullumbimby Leagues Club Camping Grounds.

Well - all the best John, hope it all works out for you and your wife.  Good luck, remember always the good times you had together. We are in Townsville at the moment - have been in this area about three weeks, for various reasons - but will move northward in the middle of next week. Hope to get to Cooktown in time to meet up with some people who have "done the cape"

Lots of rain up here at the moment - hopefully clearing tomorrow - keep in touch.

My future plans are firming up and the way it looks I will not be travelling north in the winter and south in the summer unless the trips are for a short time. I will be camping for a few days a week and covering the many free camps between Gympie and Tenterfield with occasional longer trips. My wife and I after 30 years of marriage split up a couple of years ago and my life since then has been documented in this blog but now we are going to join up again with many compromises. I will spend a few days a week back at home and she will come camping with me regularly as she becomes comfortable with the new lifestyle. How things will go is anyone's guess but we intend to make it work.

Our first camping experience together occurred yesterday when we went to Mullumbimby Leagues Club Camping Grounds Camps6 #13. The cost was $25 for a powered site next to the river and we were warned about the wet and mud, the warning was very accurate and we were constantly changing in and out muddy shoes and dodging the rain. Amazing because I had travelled from Perth to the Gold Coast without getting the van wet other than across the Atherton Tablelands in the cloud and mist, only to have the first trip with my wife being caught in the mud and rain.Mullumbindy+Leagues+Club+007.JPG

We enjoyed the experience and even found time for some fishing between the showers. The day to go to the Leagues Club camp is Saturday when the local team is playing at home because the camp shop is open and delicious hamburgers are available. So there was no cooking on the trip other than I did my favourite tomato and cheese grilled sandwiches for breakfast. I did expect that the Leagues Club would be open and that I would be able to enjoy a meal there but the best I was offered was a courtesy car down to the local RSL but after the burgers with the lot we were not hungry.

John

That is great news John and I really hope things work out as planned, you had a great experience and we all make compromises in life...........life is too short to end it lonely and alone and your wife might actually find she enjoys this lifestyle.........though I would wait till the weather fines up before a longer trip.
Good luck for the future to you both

That's good news John! You've had a good run around the country, now you can share that with your wife in your future together. I'm sure you will both have a great time travelling, even if only short get-a-ways. I sincerely wish you both the best!

Good for you John. I hope she read your blog and learned all about you adventures. Maybe your lone travels gave you a different aspect to life, and maybe your wife saw what she was missing and could share with you.
That has to be a good thing. Doing it together is definitely preferable to doing it alone. But the other person has to be happy to share with you and vice versa. If one is unhappy, it won't work. Good luck and greetings to the "Mrs".

I hope the future is a happy one for the both of you John. Good on you both for giving it another go. Have fun out in the play ground and keep safe both of you.

Wow and I thought my site at Mildura was muddy, nothing like that though. Mine was in a Big4 CV Park and had 4.5 star rating, my problem is, not sure how they got it.

Hi, Congratulations. Life is full of adventures and all the better if you have someone to share them with, especially someone you fell in love with a long time ago. What was it that attracted you to her the very first time? Enjoy

Excellent news John.  Really hope you have the chance to share many happy adventures with your wife.  A shared experience is always twice as much fun.  All the best for your rekindled relationship and safe travels.

Cheers!

Chris
