Which air vent to install on Ute for dogs?

Has anyone got any ideas on which one is best when transporting dogs? I have put a canopy on the Ute and our dogs will be traveling in the back as there are only two seats in the front. I am trying to decide what type of vent is best for the roof of the canopy. I am able to leave the side windows open a little to let air in but think I should also install a roof vent.

I bought a ute with canopy to keep my chihuahuas in the back. I use to worry because I could never tell how warm it was in the back. I use to open the window at the front between canopy and vehicle to let the breeze blow through.

It was a worry to me with them uncontained if I braked suddenly. Another disadvantage for me was that they crossed their legs till they got in there and used it as a toilet.

Roof vent would be a good idea.
