Had a week in Menindee lakes out of Broken Hill; lovely place. Must say Tim and his partner at the Menidee caravan park (5 kms out of town towards broken Hill) looked after me very well. Always had a smile and gave me some BIG yabbies when I left.
Recalled to Adelaide.
About to leave again, this time no towing, so no dingy but I do have single bed and swag...fishing/fossicking gear/camera/ internet and bits N pieces; combine these items with the best intentions, success?

Seeya on the road..
Isn't it delightfully strange that 'spur of the moment' or 'see where the road takes us' type trips are so often better than the best laid plans of mice and men. Even though things can go awry, I thinks it lends a sense of 'adventure' to getting away. And even the worst trip is later viewed with a laugh or shared experience with others who undertand just how satisfying memories can be.
We have lived in quite a few places around the country over the years, and it always frustrates me that we go past those brown tourist signs because we are in a hurry to get somewhere else. Once I get on the road I am going to check out everyone of those sites (if the Winnie can get to them) to make up for all those years of frustration. It always seems to be that tourists see more of your home town that you do. Guess we get complacent and don't bother checking out points of interest around home. I fully intend to remedy that in the future. Cheers! Chris
Totally agree gypsy rover. Just outside Biggenden heading towards Childers there is a brown tourist sign reading Wilderness park, with tables and chairs and good parking area. Still haven't gone down to investigate yet, but it does intrigue me.
