Longreach Waterhole

Friday and I set off for Longreach Waterhole Camps6 #94 just under 300kms away. Took it easy and arrived just after 3pm, not an easy site to find but after getting local knowledge found it easier. Coming from North it is the first turnoff to the West just before the grid.
It is a beautifulground and very quiet probably because it is 11kms of sandy unmade roads away from the highway but just what I was looking for to stay a couple of days. Constant driving can be wearing and so can the cost of fuel, it still has to be paid for but a few days of non driving gets the pension around before some of the expense. After passing Darwin I really feel that I am on my way home, if I had a home, and that I will be moving quickly towards the Gold Coast.Longreach+Waterhole+005.JPG

You have done well John. You may do better to head further north for a while, very cold down this way at the moment. All the guys are up around the Mareeba area sitting under the sun gathering warmth.
