Hi all. As a Newbie to this site, I am excited about the possibilities it may open up for me. Have always wanted to live this lifestyle but somehow, life always had other plans Have recently had a change in circumstances and am eager to give it a try.
To start with I will be camping only and travelling in my station wagon. As a solo Nomad, I would want to be meeting up with other Nomads to begin with until I feel more confident about venturing out alone. Will need to return to Perth regularly to begin with so not wanting to venture too far afield just yet.
I would love to link up with some other solo ladies especially, but anyone to begin with.

Welcome to you and congratulations for taking the first step. The rest will be a breeze. There are no rules about the type of travel and camping you do. The aim is to just get out there. You'll be just fine and you'll meet the nicest strangers who will become your bestest friends. It's a great network. Have fun.

Thanks Janette, your response is not only welcome but very reasurring. Any hints on what is and is not necessary?? I tend to pack too much so an appropriate inventory would be a help.
Unless you're going across the Simpson there will always be food, fuel and water supplies every 200kms or so. You can only wear one set of clothes at a time. There are ways and means of doing the laundry anywhere. Laundries or a bucket of soapy water by handy. If space is a problem I'd suggest 3 changes of clothes for warm weather, 3 for cold, 7 undies, 3 bras, socks and shoes for walking, and the humble thongs. Of course this is just basics, and I pack this for my job when I go away. It's just a guide. Don't forget your pills and medication and vitamins etc. Laptop, camera, phone, blue tooth, music etc, and the cords necessary to charge and keep things running. Your comfort level will be your personal choice. If you want to "rough it" you'll have to determin how resourceful you really are out there. If you have a home to return to you will be able to review the necessary vs the unnecessary and pack accordingly. I live the compact life in my 20ft van full time, and I travel and camp for work, as my avatar explains. I get the best of both worlds. I get to meet lots of people, travel, see some country and get paid.

Hi and welcome,Look out for me coming west from 5th August.Im travelling via Pt Lincoln/Eucla/Esperance/Albany then up to Perth.I will look in on a few friends then go up to Geraldton.Coming home via Kalgoorlie and possibly straight across the nullabor unless something takes my fancy.
