I can sympathise with all that Marj. As we've discussed before, I can't have hot or spicy food either.
Brian, I haven't read the book, but an article along those lines, and I believe it.
I am a sugar addict, or lolly-aholic as I call it, and it's very hard to get off it. I'd like to know if there's a magic wand to stop the cravings. I suppose it's just down to that good old willpower!
I have the answer Beth. Don't buy it and you won't have it in the house to eat. I do buy chocolate but only the dark choc, you can only have about 4 squares as its so strong and its good for you. Occasionally I will buy a treat but its only ever big enough to eat there and then and none left over for later.
In my case the magic wand is I can't afford them and healthy food like veges as well so I buy the veges first and there is never any left over for the sugary things, although sometimes I will treat myself to a little icecream.

You obviously have more won't-power than me Marj. Not having it in the house doesn't help, I'll go down the road and buy it if I'm really desperate.
I used to think that way too Doug, till I realised it might be sooner rather than later if I don't look after myself. Coming up 64 in June, my dad died at 56 and my mum died at 67, its scary to think I've past one and heading towards the other. I'm hoping for at least another 20 years, if I'm lucky. Some health issues over the last 5 or 6 years forced me to take heed.
